In the world of punk-themed galas, there are two camps: the literal interpreters of the era’s gutter-and-grit days, and then those who opt for a glam reinvention of punk’s inspiration on couture fashion
Baby, it’s cold outside, but Versace‘s spring ads are hot.
The late Gianni Versace used to show his couture collection at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. His sis Donatella continued the tradition until 2004, and this weekend, she finally returned to Gianni’s favorite spot. As such, we wanted to take a look back at Gianni’s Atelier Versace creations.
This Sunday marks a very special day for Donatella Versace. Not only is the Italian designer showing her fall 2012 couture collection and debuting a new jewelry line, but she’s doing it all at her late brother Gianni’s favorite Ritz Hotel in Paris.
Yesterday Donatella Versace told a bunch of kids at Oxford the ultimate truth: Queen Elizabeth is one badass dresser.
It’s Memorial Day weekend, which means the dog days of summer are almost upon us! Let’s ring in the season with some very fashionable pooches.
Not only is Versace entering the fancy kids’ clothing arena with Young Versace, its ad campaign stars some serious supermodel spawn.
After all the crazy, leopard print outlandishness of the last collection she designed for H&M, Donatella Versace scaled back her designs for the Versace for H&M cruise collection.
Anyone betting Tom Ford would design H&M‘s next designer collaboration is going to lose. Word has it that Donatella Versace enjoyed working with H&M so much the first time around that she’s designed a pre-spring collection that will go on sale early next year. Donatella Versace is a character in that old school sort of way that makes for great SNL impressions, dinner table conversations, and, most importantly, interviews. Which is to say: she’s the type of lady who will go to rehab for cocaine and complain about not being able to wear heels.
Let’s not mince words here: The Versace for H&M collection is, visually, a lot to handle. And the trippy commercial for the collaboration will be too!
Click the picture. It gets worse.
If it wasn’t bad enough that Anna Wintour had already denounced Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi as disgusting and embarrassing, a member of one of fashion’s royal families who works for Berlusconi just decided he’s had enough with the guy, too.
Ever wanted to know what Donatella Versace wears when she’s not sporting sequin-covered gowns? Or what Michael Kors looks like in something other than a black, tailored suit? So turn up your A.C, it’s about to get hot in here.
Donatella Versace is already wearing clothing from her company’s upcoming collaboration with H&M. (Yes, yes, you read that correctly: Versace is working with H&M!) The designer closed her men’s show in Milan yesterday wearing one of the studded leather dresses she’ll unveil at the Swedish fast-fashion chain’s stores in November. And while we’re excited that we’ll finally be able to afford a few pieces of Versace’s brand of glamour for ourselves, there are a few things about the collection that give us pause.
