Elie Saab Page 1
We won’t ever criticize someone for opting for a natural makeup look (even if we get bored by it at times), but we think an up-do would have transformed this look into a complete knockout.
Well folks, we’ve made it. It’s our last livestream of Paris Fashion Week and we hope you’ll join us in the front row one final time before bidding adieu to the City of Lights. This morning’s show is Elie Saab, which means we’re in for a first peek at what stars will be wearing on the red carpet in the months to come.
Last night saw two big movie premieres: Total Recall in New York and The Campaign in Los Angeles. In general, the ladies on both coasts did reasonably well. Everyone looked red-carpet ready, and we didn’t spot anything ill-fitting, which is half the battle. That said, a lot of the ensembles were still pretty “meh”, and obviously some did better than others.
Fragrance reviews are silly. Fragrance marketing is even sillier. So from now on, we’ll be crowdsourcing our fragrance reviews. Read on to find out what our office thought about the latest scent to land on our desk: Elie Saab Le Parfum.
With the Golden Globes less than a week away, some of Hollywood’s biggest (and most stylish!) stars took a red carpet warm up lap at the Palm Springs Film Festival Saturday night. While the colors were a little muted — lots of black, beige, and navy — the designs weren’t. Olivia Wilde and Michelle Williams tied for our favorite looks in lace-backed Monique Lhuillier and sequin embellished Miu Miu, respectively.
Juicy front row tales are what make runway shows so memorable (well, you know, after the clothes), and a princess throwdown is pretty much as good as it gets.
To be honest: we were fairly disappointed with Sunday night’s red carpet showing. It was pretty, sure, but basically, we were very, very bored. That said, even the most snoozey awards show has its standouts, and tonight was no exception. From a CW star to an Oscar winner, from Oscar de la Renta to new-to-us Lebanese designer George Hobeika, these six ladies stole the sartorial show.
For a couple that generally likes to be all up in our grills, Katy Perry and Russell Brand kept their wedding details uncharacteristically under wraps. The nuptials went down in India on Saturday, and we obviously want to know what everyone wore. Join us on this journey of discovery!
Fashion historians could argue for days who the most important woman in our industry is. We’re casting our vote for one Miss Dita Von Teese. Why? Dita Von Teese showed up for the Elie Saab show in Paris wearing a detailed long-sleeved black dress, embellished black heels, a simple watch with a black leather strap, these gorgeous sunglasses and timeless black clutch. And she looked effortlessly amazing.
They say you can’t know where you’re going until you realize where you’ve been. With that in mind, we’re taking a glance back. The past week has been a roller coaster of fashion news and events — and luckily, we were there to catch the good, the bad, and the ugly (like Lindsay Lohan‘s mean manicure).
At Thursday night’s U.S. premiere of ‘Twilight Eclipse‘, Kristen Stewart shone in an off-white, feather-textured, one-armed mini-dress designed by Elie Saab, which she paired with nude Louboutin pumps and not a stitch of jewelry. Let’s take a closer look.
