Chanel likes to tout itself as the kind of brand that spans the generational divide; that a 20-year-old can pair with motorcycle boots and a dash of insouciance while her 70-year-old grandmother dons head-to-toe and tops off with a fresh set of pearls. And while this kind of thing usually reverberates as PR speak, in the case of Chanel, it couldn’t be more true. Case in point: the motley assortment of women at last night’s dinner party in Milan celebrating “The Little Black Jacket”, Karl Lagerfeld’s photography book and exhibition.
Kate Hudson went for va-va-voom, while Chloë Moretz and Elizabeth Olsen covered up at last night’s Elle Style Awards over in London. Obviously, only one can be named best dressed, so who is it going to be? You tell us.
As Sundance Film Festival continues on its merry way down in Utah, celebrities like Kate Bosworth, Elizabeth Olsen, and Dakota Fanning stepped out yesterday to pose for the cameras and promote their new movies. In NYC, a handful of stars braved the chilly temps to take in screenings and fête their latest projects, while in Los Angeles, many donned skimpy frocks and strappy sandals because it’s California and they can do things like that. Not that we’re jealous or anything.
Elizabeth Olsen is probably our favorite Olsen girl because she’s the opposite of her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley. That doesn’t mean we like the twins any less, but have you seen Elizabeth in Martha Marcy May Marlene? Exactly.
Twenty-three-year-old Elizabeth Olsen is well on her way to becoming Hollywood’s next It-girl. The third Olsen sister is the breakout star of Martha Marcy May Marlene, will star in the upcoming Liberal Arts, and looks insanely cool in Glamour‘s September issue, which features a naked Victoria Beckham on the cover.
The perfect easy, breezy summer style.
We can’t get enough of Elizabeth Olsen, and neither can VS. magazine, which shot the rising star for their newest issue.
Elizabeth Olsen is quickly climbing her way to the top of our Favorite Olsen List. Each magazine cover counts, okay?
Sometimes, not even Prada or Rodarte can save a red carpet. Case in point: last night’s Critics Choice Awards, which featured a host of A-list style stars and celebs wearing no shortage of high-wattage designer duds on the dreariest, most shoddily constructed grey carpet we’ve ever seen.
Hollywood and fashion A-listers went all out for last night’s Chanel-sponsored celebration of director Pedro Almodovar at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art. Accordingly, almost everyone wore Chanel, though Chloe Moretz, in a champagne pink dress with textured sequin leggings absolutely stole the show.
And the “Our Favorite Olsen” competition continues! Today Elizabeth Olsen appeared on The Today Show, and we must say she’s edging her way to the top of the list.
Last night, ELLE magazine held their 18th annual Women in Hollywood tribute. And as we began collecting our favorite looks from the evening, we couldn’t help but notice that everyone and their mother was wearing Calvin Klein. What happened?, we wondered. How did Calvin pull off such a complete and utter red carpet takeover? And then we saw the giant CALVIN KLEIN logo emblazoned across the step and repeat and realized they were a sponsor. Oh, the business of fashion. Freida, Chloe, Abigail, Amber, and Elizabeth, all after the jump.
Elizabeth Olsen is earning all sorts of raves for her performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene, as well as for her red carpet style. Last night was no exception.
Elizabeth Olsen — little sis to Mary-Kate and Ashley, in case you’ve been living under a rock — made quite a style splash this month. She looked incredibly cool in Missoni for Target (major sigh!) and totally stunning in Erdem, and now she’s snagged her very own magazine cover. Dare we say this is just the first of many?
It’s quite possible that Elizabeth Olsen has had the most flawless red carpet debuts of any starlet in recent history, and her turn out at the Toronto Film Festival for the premiere of “Martha Marcy May Marlene” is no exception. Olsen accessorized a red, navy, and purple floral print gown by Erdem with a sparkly Ferragamo clutch and Jason Wu heels.
Dressing for a luncheon is always tricky. It’s not cocktail and it’s not quite business — and no one wants to end up looking like their Aunt Judy at their grandmother’s annual afternoon tea. Luckily for the rest of us, Elizabeth Olsen rose to the challenge at yesterday’s Hollywood Foreign Press Association luncheon in an oversized blouse, orange mini, and knitted statement necklace.
Earlier this year, rumors swirled that fashionista du jour Blake Lively would be playing Carrie Bradshaw in a third Sex and the City feature film based on Candace Bushnell’s best-selling prequel book, The Carrie Diaries. Lively’s rep quickly shot those rumors down, but now we hear Lively may indeed be starring in the movie — just not as the title character. So who will play the fashionable foursome? The answers may surprise you.
This weekend marked the halfway point of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which means there was no shortage of high-wattage celebs, even higher-wattage gowns, and as much flash photography as your style-obsessed mind can handle. This weekend’s best dressed, coming right up!
Despite the similarities, that’s neither Ashley nor Mary Kate — it’s 21-year-old Elizabeth Olsen who made her magazine debut in the upcoming “Discovery Issue” of V magazine.
