PHOTOS: A Sneak Peek At Project Runway’s Final Show
Finalist or fake? It was hard to tell at the Project Runway show, where 10 (!) designers revealed their final collections. And according to this picture from the show, Jessica Simpson is this season’s guest judge.
PHOTOS: Elle And RISD Kick Off Fashion Week
Did you write a senior thesis in college? If the answer is yes, then there’s a pretty big chance that after working slavishly for hundreds of hours, it faded into the academic ether never to be seen again — let alone published. But for 20 lucky RISD grads, their senior theses were shown at New York Fashion Week.
WATCH: DVF Turns Chaos Into Glamour
Outside of our family, there aren’t too many people in this world we love more than Diane von Furstenburg. In our eyes, the woman can do no wrong, and Full Frontal Fashion proved that last night on the Sundance Channel with its “The Day Before” special.
Can We Trust Anna Dello Russo’s NYFW Rules?
Anna Dello Russo never, ever fails to amaze us. Her amazing runway-to-wardrobe sense of style and her gigs with Italian and Japanese Vogue — to say nothing of the fact that she has her own perfume — have us jealous, obsequious, and attentive to every word she says. Except when she tweets. Or posts on her website.
Lou Doillon To Walk In Tom Ford’s Not-So-Secret Show
Yesterday everyone was abuzz about Tom Ford — namely regarding the rumor that he would be showing his sure-to-be-incredibly-incredible women’s ready-to-wear collection at an intimate cocktail party on Sept. 12. We were a little perplexed that Ford’s flack wouldn’t confirm if this was in fact going down, but then Lou Doillon tweeted that she would be in New York for the Tom Ford “show.”
Convicted Drug ‘Dealer’ To Play Nanette Lepore Show
Oh, the white lady. It’s no secret that the fashion and music worlds have both had their fair share of cocaine problems. As such, we do love a coke story with a happy ending. Enter: John Forté.
Anna Wintour Wants Amar’e Stoudemire On The Cover of Vogue
Whatever Anna Wintour wants, Anna Wintour gets. So it’s reasonable to expect that New York Knicks forward center Amar’e Stoudemire will grace the cover of Vogue at some point relatively soon.
What Fashion Bloggers Do On Slow News Days
Garance Dore never has a problem coming up with posts, but we do. Wonder what happens on days when there’s not a lot of news to report? This post should give you a little insight.

These Boots Were Made Just For Models To Walk In
Models do a lot of walking during Fashion Week, and Nine West has come up with a creative way to capitalize on all their non-runway pedestrianism. For charity, of course.
Copenhagen Fashion Week To Host Record Breaking Runway
Would you walk a runway that’s end is nowhere to be seen? For 220 models scheduled to take part in Copenhagen Fashion Week, answering “no” is not an option. Within the week of August 11-15, Copenhagen will boast what’s called the “World’s Greatest Catwalk” for a fashion show that will take place on Saturday, August 14, on the pedestrian street of Strøget. Models will have to pack a pair of heavy-duty Dr. Scholls insoles for their trip, because the “greatest catwalk” is a mile long!
Aboriginal Model Samantha Harris Turns Heads Down Under
Australian model Samantha Harris will walk for no less than 18 designers during the country’s Fashion week. On first glance, you might think, what’s the big deal? At 19, the former pageant girl is beyond striking, with exotic, doll-like features, lips to die for, and a portfolio that includes an appearance on the cover of Australian Vogue — so why wouldn’t designers be vying for her?
New York Fashion Week Debuts New Lincoln Center Look
New York’s upcoming Spring ’11 shows will be held in a new location this year: Lincoln Center. And while the tents are certainly iconic, the new plans for the shows sound pretty amazing.

‘The City’ Season Premiere: Kelly Cutrone Makes Us Cry
If it’s wrong to find yourself in tears at the end of a docu-drama produced by MTV, well, then we don’t want to be right. The second season of “The City” made its epic return to the small screen Tuesday night and with it came Whitney Port’s perfectly honey-colored ombre hair, Oliva Palermo’s over-enunciated Connecticut clip, and the softest side of Kelly Cutrone we’ve ever seen; it was the Mama Wolf’s tears that begat our own. Let’s start at the beginning…
Fashion Week’s New Dates Cause Drama For Rosh Hashanah
This year, the dates set by the CFDA for Fashion Week fall on the holiest dates on the Jewish calendar. Fashion Week is slated to run from September 9th-16th, while Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on the 7th and carries on for the following two days. And yes, that poses a bit of a problem.
Fashion Week Wrap Up: Paris Is King
After taking a look at this season’s fashion week coverage, it is clear that the edge, the creativity, the attention to detail, and the pure craftsmanship that seems to be fading more and more in the fashion world still lives on, maybe even exclusively, à Paris.
