Franca Sozzani Vogue Italia Page 1
While we were busy going gaga over the plus-sized model issue of Vogue Italia a few weeks ago, a bona fide plus-size model was busy being analytical about it. Velvet D’Amour, an American model who’s walked for Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano, spoke pretty frankly about the implications of the issue. And to hear her tell it, those lovely Steven Meisel photos were pretty, but not revolutionary.
We can generally rely on Vogue Italia editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani to say what she means to say. Her clear point of view is what has made her a world-renowned fashion editor, after all. But when it comes to evaluating bloggers, Sozzani has some very strong, if very mixed opinions.
Italian Vogue‘s Franca Sozzani always speaks her mind. This is one of the reasons we think she’s one of the most badass editors around, and this week she took to the internet to express her patent dislike of photography that is in “very bad taste” and goes “against all aesthetical grounds.”
