Giorgio Armani Page 1
There are really only two reasons why anybody ever comments on a post: to smugly or furiously point out they know much more about everything than we do, or because he or she is an incensed Nicki Minaj fan.
If you thought yesterday was Thursday or Drake’s birthday, you’d be correct. But it was also Giorgio Armani Day.
Giorgio Armani has been feeling the love for the ladies recently. Last week he announced designer Stella Jean as the first woman to show at his Armani Teatro showspace during Milan Fashion Week, and now Jodie Foster has become the first leading lady to get outfitted in Armani for a film role.
It’s not every day that a womenswear name gets chosen to present at the traditional show space of Giorgio Armani. Actually it’s never, if we’re gonna get specific, but that’s about to change this upcoming Milan Fashion Week. Armani himself has asked fellow Italian designer Stella Jean to become the first women’s label to show her spring/summer 2014 collection at the Armani Teatro.
And the Milan Fashion Week saga continues. Today, Giorgio Armani has rekindled old awkwardness by again rejecting an invitation to join the Italian Chamber of Fashion, whose mission it is to revamp Milan Fashion Week by making it more attractive, saying he would only accept if every Italian brand agreed not to show in other cities.
Considering that the night was a celebration of Italian fashion and that Sophia Loren was in the house, it’s no surprise that so many women brought their style A-game to Giorgio Armani’s ‘One Night Only Roma’ event. Two style savants in particular turned up in the season’s sometimes-tricky neutral, beige, which we’ve decided to turn into a teaching moment.
This designer is no stranger to having their duds grace the covers of fashion glossies the world over, but this month, they’re the one smiling out at us from the newsstand. Read on to find out who the mag picked as their cover star.
Tonight’s Academy Awards didn’t tire you out? Well, we’re certainly impressed. But lucky you! Now you can livestream the fall 2013 Giorgio Armani show bright and early at 6 AM EST.
Jodie Foster took home the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at tonight’s Golden Globes. So what did she wear for such an occasion? Nothing but the best, that’s what.
Emma Watson isn’t one to play it safe on the red carpet, but the Giorgio Armani dress she wore to Monday night’s premiere of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower in Los Angeles may have been a risk that didn’t pay off.
Giorgio Armani opened up to Elle UK in their September issue about what it takes to be a true fashion mogul, and what he had to say was surprisingly poignant.
Well, has it?
Lady Gaga‘s relationship with Giorgio Armani has been well-documented, and it looks like the creative duo is teaming up once again.
Ever wanted to know what Donatella Versace wears when she’s not sporting sequin-covered gowns? Or what Michael Kors looks like in something other than a black, tailored suit? So did we, and that’s why when we saw Giorgio Armani rocking a speedo last week, we couldn’t help but dig up photos of our other favorite designers in their beach duds. So turn up your A.C, it’s about to get hot in here.
77-year-old designer Giorgio Armani showed off his inspiringly beach-ready body as he frolicked in a Speedo on the Spanish isle of Formentera on Wednesday.
We’re smack dab in the middle of Paris Haute Couture Week, a fashion phenomenon that happens twice a year and spawns a lot of jokes in which the word “haute” replaces the word “hot.” And even though it’s quite haute in France right now (see what we did there?) editors and stylists are looking at the clothes their very wealthy clients will be wearing once fall’s chill returns to the air.
Giorgio Armani can dish it, but he just can’t take it. The Italian designer wrote a full newspaper editorial defending himself against Tod’s chairman Diego Della Valle, who criticized Armani last week for calling Prada‘s public listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange a dumb idea.
If you thought everyone in the fashion industry was impressed with Prada‘s multi-billion dollar listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, you were wrong. Giorgio Armani dismissed rival Miuccia Prada‘s new business venture as nothing more than a clever way to cover up her debts. He also called her clothes ugly.
File this under Fashion News That Blows Our Minds: Giorgio Armani owns a basketball team, a basketball team he loves so much he has agreed to give the Milan-based franchise $57.9 million over the next three years. The team name? Olimpia Armani Jeans, of course.
