Happy Father’s Day everyone!
The modeling world is a tough one to break into, and after that it’s even harder to really make it. But those who do make it big also make major bank.
Survey says: maybe.
We’ve complained before that designers should be a little more theatrical with their shows, amp up the production and the performance, and make the whole rigamarole that goes into going to fashion week feel like it’s about more than just looking at pretty (and often not-so-pretty) clothes. Alexander Wang‘s fall display did just that.
Like any supportive wife, Gisele comforted her husband Tom Brady after his disappointing Super Bowl loss. She also dropped the F-bomb.
They may have just finished building a $20 million mega-mansion, but Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are just like any other fantastically in love couple: they send group emails to their friends urging them to think good thoughts about their significant other’s quarterbacking skills in the upcoming SuperBowl and call each other cute diminutive nicknames!
Gisele might not be a billionaire (yet) but the Brazilian supermodel sure lives like one. She and her football-playing husband just finished construction on a $20 million home in California, and are all moved in and getting settled.
Gisele Bundchen is the richest supermodel in the business, and it turns out there’s a pretty good reason why. An analysis of the publicly traded companies she’s represented over the last four years reveals that if those companies were grouped together as a stock index, they’d outperform the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
This was the week Duchess Catherine returned! This was also the week of many fashion show missteps — Tom Ford, Nicola Formichetti, and Kanye West all got horrible runway reviews. Scott Schuman made us really mad, and Ryan Gosling made us really happy, but Fashimals changed our lives forever.
Gisele Bundchen may be well on her way to becoming the world’s first billionaire supermodel, but that doesn’t mean she’s immune to controversy. In fact, Bundchen is currently under fire for a lingerie campaign currently airing in her home country of Brazil.
Today’s StyleDish brings us rules on how to be a responsible coupon user, yet more proof that supermodels are divas, and a September 11-inspired handbag complete with fire-engine-red hue and flame detailing. Also, don’t forget to entire QVC and Fashion Night Out’s sweepstakes for a trip to NYC and more!
Rarely does Emma Watson not look awesome, and her spread for the latest issue of i-D is no exception.
Supermodels designing capsule collections is no new concept (see: Kate Moss for Topshop, Heidi Klum for New Balance, Jessica Stam for RACHEL Rachel Roy, etc.), so color us not surprised when we heard that supermodel extraordinaire Gisele Bündchen was collaborating with mass market retailer C&A.
Let’s be clear: it’s darn near impossible for Gisele Bundchen to look bad. And the sparkly, silver, form-fitting Oscar de la Renta gown she wore last night is undeniably pretty. It’s just that there was this thing… this blindingly bright, seemingly incongruous piece of fabric tied around her waist and finished with a bow. And we found it so distracting we didn’t even recognize the person wearing it as Gisele.
We don’t actually think the world is about to end, and we’ve been hard pressed to find a lot of people who do. Still, the prospect of The Rapture got us to thinking that there are a few things we should probably get off our chests before 144,000 of us get absorbed into the cosmos. Or whatever is about to happen.
In the past year, the world’s 10 top-earning models made a combined $112 million. $45 million of that was made by Gisele Bündchen alone.
It may not be nice, but someone has to do it. What is “it”, you ask? Pitting two of our favorite supermodels against one another in an Elle cover battle, that’s what!
