Funnily enough, our utopia would not include Glenn Beck.
Despite our insistence that Glenn Beck never come up with his own fashion line, he has. Last year, he created 1791, a collection of old-school button-down shirts, graphic tees, and fleeces made right here in the good ol’ US of A. Now, he’s adding to the repertoire with two denim styles for dudes, and a fancy new commercial.
While we at Styleite understand and appreciate all sorts of trends and styles, even when they don’t necessarily match up with our own personal taste, there are still some celebrities we hope stay as far away from fashion as possible. Just because you can act, or sing, or pick a stylist who dresses you well when you walk the red carpet does not give you the right to call yourself a designer.
They say you can’t know where you’re going until you realize where you’ve been. With that in mind, we’re taking a glance back. It’s the rare moment when fashion and politics intersect, but when it comes to what a First Lady is wearing, one apparently can never tread too carefully. Glenn Beck took Michelle Obama to task Thursday night for the white top with black splotches she chose to wear while visiting the Gulf, calling it “the most Marie Antoinette” he has ever seen “of Michelle Obama.”
