Golden Globes red carpet Page 1
NBC host Natalie Morales went all matchy-matchy on the red carpet at last night’s Golden Globes, but she coordinated more than baubles to her green gown.
All in all, this year’s Golden Globe Awards drew a very well-dressed crowd. But no red carpet would be complete without some flubs, and the last night certainly brought out some doozies.
Jodie Foster took home the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at tonight’s Golden Globes. So what did she wear for such an occasion? Nothing but the best, that’s what.
And we’re off! The red carpet at the Golden Globes is in motion, and hopefully, the stars will be dressed to the nines. We’ve got a livestream of the red carpet, and we’ll be updating this gallery with every single look, so keep checking back for the latest!
We are beyond confident that Mesdames Fey and Poehler are going to crush it tonight, a la Thelma and Louise, as hosts of the 2013 Golden Globes. So we won’t waste any time worrying about the actual ceremony, and will instead devote our attentions to where a different kind of comedy happens: the red carpet. [...]
Maybe you had better things to do, maybe you drank too much of that Two Buck Chuck your friend brought over, or maybe you just want to re-see it all again, but we’ve put together a handy recap of all our Golden Globes red carpet coverage, all in one place.
Red carpets are notorious proving grounds for trends, and the ground outside of this years’ Golden Globes ceremony was just littered with them. Perhaps without even knowing it, the celebrities who showed up to watch awards season get its start laid the framework for what we’ll be seeing at the Emmys and the Oscars — and what we’ll be seeing on the street come springtime.
Look, not everyone can be the best, and at no time of the year is that clearer than during award show season. Not because some people win awards and others don’t, but because some people just can’t manage to dress themselves before they hit the red carpet.
We’re huge Emma Stone fans, which means we love putting her on best dressed lists. Unfortunately, her maroon, cap-sleeved Lanvin gown — accessorized with a bejeweled eagle belt — didn’t quite make the cut.
It was only ten days ago that Dior announced Mila Kunis as the new face of their handbag line, so it makes sense that the Black Swan star would wear the French brand to tonight’s Golden Globes. But while the black, asymmetrical strap dress is very pretty, it feels a little stale and a whole lot of boring to us. Do you agree?
We’re also live-tweeting it here. Join in!
Even though the fashion and celebrity whirlwind known as The Golden Globes is just a sparkling memory in the Internet’s eye, we know that there are still a fair few people who haven’t had the chance to feast their eyes on the glorious bounty of pinks, greens and sequins that dominated the award shoe’s red carpet yet. And to make it easy for you to dive right in, we’ve collected all of our Golden Globes coverage into one post.
…Olivia Wilde, hands down. As Justin put it, “It’s like a pair of Louboutins swallowed a box of fireworks.” And though they spent most of the night hidden under the big skirt of her super sparkly Marchesa gown, Wilde certainly made a concerted effort to show them off.
Here’s the thing. While some celebs play it safe on the red carpet, others understand that an event like the Golden Globes is the perfect opportunity to make a statement. And whether that statement is, “I’m too old and too good an actor to mess about with gowns that are absurdly luxurious” or “Most men’s tuxedos are just plain boring, so I’m going to mix it up” — or even “I’m wearing two different colored shoes and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it” — the five actors in this slideshow made big splashes. And they looked really good doing it. And the best part? Some of them weren’t even nominated!
Natalie Portman always looks beautiful. But there’s something about this pink gown by Viktor and Rolf that’s throwing us off. Oh, wait. It’s that large (and oh so literal) sparkling red rose in the center of her decolletage.
This year’s Golden Globes red carpet did not disappoint. Sure, there were some misses, but there were also a whole bunch of hits. Trends abound, we saw color and texture and lots of pitch perfect awards show style.
