Gossip Girl Page 1
We all know the ins and outs of wardrobe staples — a plain white tee, dark denim, and a timeless LBD come to mind — but the same goes for beauty. We wanted to find out the exact must-have products that our favorite fashion insiders never leave home without: the go-to goodies that instantly put a pep in our most stylish friends’ steps. This week, actress Tika Sumpter reveals her must-have moisturizer.
Things are moving quite fast for Monika Chiang. She debuted her eponymous line just last year, and now she’s showing her latest collection at Lincoln Center. Chiang presented her spring 2013 collection this afternoon to a room full of editors, and buyers, who were all clamoring for a look at Chiang’s line, which she refers to as “luxurious athleticism.”
Gossip Girl sure knows how to attract the cool young things. At last night’s soiree celebrating the series’ 100th episode, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and crew were joined by the awesome one-two punch of Chloe Moretz and Karlie Kloss. Whatever did they wear?!
From everything we know about Kate Middleton to Kate Moss getting naked for Vogue, if you missed something last week, we’ve got you covered.
This was the week America become (re}enamored with the idea of a royal wedding — William and Kate and rings, oh my! Diesel ruffled some feathers, Emma Watson was everywhere and Google entered the fashion biz. Karl Lagerfeld also said some things, and Tavi’s launching a magazine.
W may have lost its creative director, but Stefano Tonchi is making sure the magazine keeps a high profile. In addition to all the nakedness, the mag is now making the leap to television — specifically, to Gossip Girl.
The one lexicographic distinction that we here at Styleite are always going to follow is the one that exists between “style icon” and “style star.” Why? Because people like Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman like to give people like Blake Lively just a smidge too much credit sometimes, and we feel the need — nay, the responsibility — to reign crap like that in.
Do you think that if we memorized the dictionary, minded our Ps and Qs, and professed our undying love for Tim Gunn, he’d adopt us? Fashion’s most honest icon has offered up some advice (and constructive criticism) for hater-of-all-things-pants-related Taylor Momsen. Gunn recently filmed a cameo on Gossip Girl where he found Momsen’s behavior on set “pathetic” and “sad.”
The cast of Gossip Girl is pretty familiar with high fashion, but it looks like this season is going to be especially chic. There were already reports circulating saying that fashion industry giants Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue editors Hamish Bowles and Lauren Santo Domingo would appear on the show, and now it looks like celebrity stylist (and Styleite‘s fave) Rachel Zoe is going to be on the show, too.
We’re pretty sure we could dictate the entire plot of the next season of Gossip Girl based solely on the crazy amount of paparazzi shots that have been published throughout the fashion community. And while we’ve been torn whether or not we should discuss said outfits, these photos of Blake Lively have left us no choice.
In this month’s issue of Nylon, cover girl Jessica Szohr tells us that if she had to choose one of her castmate’s closets to sift through, it would be rebel character Jenny Humphrey’s. Really?
As if we weren’t excited enough for the next season of Gossip Girl, now rumor has it that Project Runway‘s Tim Gunn will be making a cameo appearance sometime in late October.
It’s been a week full of highs (Emma Watson‘s new hairdo), lows (Teresa Guidice‘s local tanning salon ad) and weirdness (fly legs turned into fake eyelashes). If you’ve missed any of this week’s fashion news, read on and get caught up.
Religious Gossip Girl fans have no doubt been waiting with bated breath to find out the fates of Serena, Blair, Nate, Dan, Vanessa, and of course, Chuck. And it appears Christmas has come early for some viewers. So we’ll begin this post by giving fair warning: THIS IS YOUR SPOILER ALERT!
Gossip Girl will have two episodes next season focused around Anna Wintour‘s Fashion’s Night Out event — and that’s not all. The show and the fashion bible are about to have a lot more in common than a love of clothes.
Yesterday, we got to preview Club Monaco’s Fall 2010 collection, and if you ask us, Eric Daman — Gossip Girl‘s costume director — should get as many samples as possible. And fast! Because multiple pieces in the collection scream the sartorial savviness that is GG.
They say you can’t know where you’re going until you realize where you’ve been. With that in mind, we’re taking a glance back. The past week has been a roller coaster of fashion news and events — and luckily, we were there to catch the good, the bad, and the ugly (like Lindsay Lohan‘s mean manicure).
We know its a slow news day, but there’s no excuse for hair this bad. What were the Gossip Girl stylists thinking??? At first we thought the waist-length, mullet-esque pony was one of Blake Lively’s hair extensions gone rogue, but then we saw photos of the hairstylist actively perfecting the ‘do. And now we’re just confused.
One of our morning rituals involves trolling our photo services for awesome photos which we can then share with you, our dear readers. But there’s nothing more frustrating than when we find THE MOST AWESOME PHOTO EVER and can’t share it because, well, it’s not in our subscription. Today, we stumbled across a collection of images from Gossip Girl’s set location in Paris, and while Blake Lively in peach pants is certainly inspiring, it was a photo of Serena with designer Karl Lagerfeld that has us head over heels.
