PHOTOS: The 7 Worst Dressed Celebs On The Grammys Red Carpet
No one arrived in an egg at this year’s Grammy Awards, nor did anyone bring a fake Pope as a date, but that’s not to say that there weren’t some WTF moments on the red carpet tonight. Here, in our humble opinion, are the worst of the bunch.
PHOTOS: Who Wore What To The 2011 Grammy Awards
Lady Gaga may have “walked” the red carpet at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards in a Hussein Chalayan-designed egg, but the rest of the attendees came fully dressed and on display. And while the Grammys are normally known for being the most risk-friendly of award shows, most celebs played it safe-ish; after Gaga’s egg, Nicki Minaj held court in crazytown in a head-to-toe leopard print couture ensemble by Givenchy. Most important though, were the evening’s familiar faces: Nicole Kidman wore a strapless floral piece from Jean Paul Gaultier‘s Spring 2011 Couture show and Rihanna took a page out of model Andre Pejic’s book and walked the step and repeat in the same ivory fur gown he wore down the runway.
GALLERY: M.I.A.’s 10 Flashiest Fashion Statements
M.I.A.’s heavily anticipated third full-length album “/\/\/\V/\” drops today. (The album is pronounced “Maya.”) And while she’s certainly known for her melting pot of sounds and vocal techniques, her fashion presence is difficult to ignore. Sometimes it’s fun and playful like her Jean-Charles De Castelbajac shark dress — and sometimes seizure-inducing, like the neon tribal, flashing print madness in her “Boyz” music video. But when your music sounds like a bonfire blast of dubstep, bhangra, hip-hop, house, and punk, you can get away with outfits that are equally as eclectic.
