Tim Gunn has been on a roll lately — a roll which coincides nicely with the release of his book, “Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making It Work.” And while we’ve championed his straight-shooting cause through most of this, we can’t help but think he’s started to take it too far. On Access Hollywood yesterday, Gunn set his sights on four-year-old Suri Cruise — though he foists the blame on her parents, and the insanely easy target that is Lindsay Lohan.
Tim Gunn just gets better and better, braver and braver, every media stop he makes. Last night, he joined Jon Stewart on The Daily Show to discuss his book and, naturally, the first thing Stewart asked about was that Anna Wintour-being-carried-down-the-stairs-by-five-bodyguards story. But this time Gunn widened the scope of his scrutiny and took the entire Conde Nast tower at 4 Times Square to task.
We have got to get our hands on Tim Gunn‘s book. While everyone’s favorite fashionable mentor may seem mild-mannered and even-handed on TV, Gunn really knows what makes for good, salacious book publicity.
We love Tim Gunn for a variety of reasons. To whit: his inner comic book nerd, his championing of the Garment District, and the fact that he just doesn’t seem to be scared of anyone — not even fashion’s favorite villain, Anna Wintour. According to a juicy tidbit in Gunn’s new book “Gunn’s Golden Rules”, the Project Runway mentor once witnessed Ms. Wintour being carried down five flights of stairs by her bodyguards.
