Ever wonder how absurdly wealthy folks blow off steam in the French Riviera? Well, it turns out it’s by throwing around hundreds of thousands of dollars to get unlikely couples to make out with one another. For a good cause, of course.
It looks like the Cannes Film Festival hasn’t been very fun for Alec Baldwin.
Last night, after making a fundraising pit-stop at New York City’s Ritz Carlton, President Barack Obama found himself in the “hot basement room” of Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman‘s West Village townhouse, where fifty fashion types and celebrities had paid $35,750 each for less than two hours of the President’s time. Another day, another change up at Halston. Just yesterday we learned Halston Heritage creative officer Sarah Jessica Parker was out and today it’s speculated the label’s co-owner, movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, is prepping for an exit.
For those of you who can’t get enough of “Project Runway,” we’ve just heard word that an accessories spin-off is officially in the works.
Word has it that Sarah Jessica Parker wept when she found out Bonnie Takhar, her colleague at Halston, was asked to leave the company. Takhar had been the brand’s CEO since it relaunched in 2007, but Page Six reports that creative differences among Halston’s top brass made it difficult for people to get along. Everyone, that is, but Takhar and Jessica Parker, who has been president and chief creative officer since this January. Takhar broke the news to her friend just last week.
