Iris Apfel Page 2
Ever wanted to own a piece of jewelry that Iris Apfel has worn? Well, if you’ve got the scratch, now you can!
This was the week Kim Kardashian wedding details leaked, a lady had Damien Hirst tattoo her vagina, and the Muppets became super relevant. Also, Marc Jacobs might be headed to Dior, and Iris Apfel is getting the documentary treatment.
So, we’re clearly not the only people who are completely obsessed with Iris Apfel. The 90-year-old style icon is simply the coolest. We intend to buy all of her HSN jewelry (and everything in her Alexis Bittar collection), and wear it while watching a new documentary about her.
BREAKING: Iris Apfel is collaborating on a jewelry collection with Alexis Bittar!
Second time’s the charm? German supermodel Heidi Klum is reprising her role as jewelry collaborator with QVC, and we’re betting both she and the home shopping channel have their fingers crossed (and their lawyers armed to the teeth) to avoid another big lawsuit.
This was the week of Cannes, Botox mom, and Lady Gaga. Also, Carla Bruni is probably, definitely pregnant, and Jane Pratt‘s website launched. And, you know, beards!
We were all but heartbroken when we were alerted to the fact that one of the pieces from Iris Apfel‘s upcoming HSN collection bore a striking resemblance to that of a French jewelry designer. Now the disputed toucan pin is being removed from the collection.
Ever since we heard about it straight from Iris Apfel‘s mouth, we’ve been anxiously awaiting her jewelry collection. It will be sold on HSN beginning in September, and now we have pictures of the pieces, which retail from $20 to $180. They’re really great, but is one of them uncomfortably similar to that of a French jewelry designer?
This week was the week of censorship — Hillary Clinton, Lady Gaga, and Andrej Pejic were all victims. Chanel went all-out for its cruise show, Bristol Palin got a new surgically-altered look, and Kate Middleton is still a very big deal. Also, Iris Apfel, we love you!
Once upon a time we went to an absurdly fancy party where style icon Iris Apfel told us she was designing a jewelry collection. And now, the thing that seemed like a dream is a dream come true: Apfel will start selling her line, Rara Avis by Iris Apfel, on HSN starting today.
Iris Apfel is, simply, the coolest. We’ve written about her time and again, and now the style icon is the subject of an interview in June’s Architectural Digest. She, like us, digs costume jewelry, jeans, and thinks that “properly done, [clothes] can be an art form.” Here are some words of wisdom from our favorite octogenarian.
Iris Apfel is probably one of our most favorite people in the world. The 89-year-old interior and textiles designer has been a fashion icon ever since she started popping up in Bill Cunningham‘s photo pages in The New York Times, and we’re hard-pressed to think of a person who has a more individual sense of style — for either their homes or their wardrobes. Which is why last night when we ran into her at a party Ralph Lauren threw for newly installed Architectural Digest editor Margaret Russell, we couldn’t help but ask her a few questions about her style, both at home and on the street.
Iris Apfel is a true fashion icon — an irreverent original with a penchant for bold clothes and even bolder accessories. We love everything about the 89-year-old’s style, right down to her larger-than-life signature specs.
