PETA Names Janet Jackson Grinch Of The Year For Designing Fur Line

PETA just can’t let an old dog rest. The animal rights organization stirred up its nearly year-old campaign against singer Janet Jackson, who added part-time furrier to her resume with a gig designing a collection for Blackglama. Time and again PETA called for her to denounce fur, and now that she hasn’t, it’s named her the first ever PETA Grinch of the Year.

Last night’s Glamour Women of the Year Awards had Carnegie Hall bursting with so much girl power, it’s amazing the place didn’t explode. Last night marked the awards’ 20th birthday, and the star-studded event certainly did that milestone justice.

Out magazine’s Popnography blog did a little catching up with Pamela Anderson, the erstwhile bikini-clad fictional mayoress of the beaches of Los Angeles county. Anderson just did a (clearly airbrushed) PETA ad with photographer David LaChapelle, and had a successful turn at stand-up comedy during Montreal’s gay pride week.

Harper’s Bazaar Janet Jackson Cover Revealed

Earlier last month, Mediaite.com broke news that Harper’s Bazaar would be shooting Janet Jackson for their October Cover. An odd choice by Editor in Chief, Glenda Bailey, since it has been three years since her Ms. Jackson’s last fashion magazine cover. What’s the result?

Images of the newsstand and subscribers covers have been released and surprisingly, one of the two covers appears to be stunning: a perfect mix of glamour and class.
