Jennifer Lopez Page 2
Though we wouldn’t exactly call her life hard, Jennifer Lopez certainly hasn’t had an easy time of it lately. First she got divorced, then she had a somewhat debatable wardrobe malfunction on stage at the Oscars! Which means the next logical move is to appear on the cover of a major fashion magazine dressed up like a boxer. (Because she’s a fighter, get it?) Anyway, she’s wearing a jockstrap and can we just say: who knew crotch padding could look so good?
Considering she wasn’t nominated for anything, Jennifer Lopez may well have the most talked about dress of the night. Not only did it inspire some controversial (and possibly racist?) comments from E!’s red carpet police panel, but its plunging neckline left no small amount of people wondering if they’d just seen Lopez’ areola on national television.
ABC had exclusive red carpet rights for the last hour before the show, which meant E! had an entire 60 minutes to needlessly analyze every single Oscar look.
Music’s biggest and brightest stars showed up at the American Music Awards last night wearing versions of their standard red carpet uniforms.
For it’s annual Women of the Year issue, Glamour magazine picked none other than Jennifer Lopez as the standard bearer of modern women, gave her a cover and will no doubt laud her with a trophy some time in the not-too-distant-future. And when you see the issue on the newsstand (or extract it from your mailbox), you’re gonna get an eyeful of Lopez’s bodacious tatas.
We may not be chomping at the bit for her Kohl’s line, but we’re the first to admit we’ve got a soft spot for Jennifer Lopez. That hair! That face! That perfectly accented voice! (It rivals Margherita Missoni’s in its mellifluousness.) And now: that sense of humor! Lopez makes a star comedic turn in this short promo video for her upcoming collection. Watch it. It’ll improve your morning in ninety seconds or less.
If it weren’t enough that her divorce has been splashed over the covers of every tabloid in the country, now the details of Jennifer Lopez‘s private struggles will go very public in Vanity Fair‘s September style issue. Even worse, Lopez is wearing her giant engagement ring in the cover photo.
This week Kate Middleton‘s $400,000 wedding dress went on display, Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his plans for Macy’s, and Harper Beckham made her Twitter (and Facebook!) debut. Also, Valentino had some things to say about Christian Louboutin and Summer’s Eve proved it really is the worst.
Just because Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are getting divorced doesn’t mean they can’t still sell obscene amounts of mass-marketed apparel in perfect harmony together. The couple, who announced they’d be ending their marriage of seven years late last week, plans to roll full steam ahead on their line of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories for Kohl’s.
The royal couple’s trip to the States may be brief (they’re leaving today…sad face), but they’re certainly making the most of it. Last night the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rubbed shoulders with members of the Hollywood elite at the glamourous BAFTA “Brits to Watch” gala in Los Angeles.
In case you’d forgotten, today is Mother’s Day! Hooray, moms! And while we’d love to celebrate impossibly stylish mothers all over the globe, we ended up scrapping our original plan to personally wish every mother on Twitter a Happy Mother’s Day after realizing it wouldn’t be very practical. And then we went with this, a gallery of the fashion world’s most stylish moms.
This week saw the reemergence of John Galliano, the pervasiveness of Lady Gaga, and the continued dominance of the royal wedding. There were all sorts of bans (tanning! saggy pants! burkas!), a couple of lawsuits, and a contrived J. Crew “controversy”. There were even jean underpants!
We don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but Jennifer Lopez is beautiful. Like, really beautiful. So beautiful that she’s on the cover of this year’s Most Beautiful People issue of People Magazine. Lopez is like the creme de la creme of pretty folks.
People magazine isn’t revealing who topped the list (and snagged the cover) of this year’s Most Beautiful People issue until Wednesday, but our friends over at Gossip Cop got the exclusive scoop that American Idol judge and Gucci model Jennifer Lopez has been awarded the honor.
Lady Gaga may have “walked” the red carpet at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards in a Hussein Chalayan-designed egg, but the rest of the attendees came fully dressed and on display. And while the Grammys are normally known for being the most risk-friendly of award shows, most celebs played it safe-ish; after Gaga’s egg, Nicki Minaj held court in crazytown in a head-to-toe leopard print couture ensemble by Givenchy. Most important though, were the evening’s familiar faces: Nicole Kidman wore a strapless floral piece from Jean Paul Gaultier‘s Spring 2011 Couture show and Rihanna took a page out of model Andre Pejic’s book and walked the step and repeat in the same ivory fur gown he wore down the runway.
Contrary to what that headline above might have you believe, we’re not having an identity crisis of sorts — we’re still a style site. That said, we just can’t stop laughing about the Jennifer Lopez / Ellen DeGeneres hidden camera prank video we just finished watching. Which means you need to see it.
Not everyone can be the best dressed — otherwise we’d have a really messed up concept of “best” wouldn’t we? But it still makes us pretty sad to see that the women who were worst dressed on The Golden Globe’s red carpet last night are normally on our best dressed lists. But there are certain crimes that we cannot forgive, like wearing the wrong dress for the occasion, or simply not living up to one’s own superstar potential. We’ve simply come to expect more from the ladies on this list. And last night, none of them delivered.
Walking the red carpet is a daunting task for any celebrity — the fear of wardrobe malfunctions, interview snafus, and worst dressed lists loom . But while most sartorial slip-ups eventually fade, a few live on forever. In honor of the upcoming Golden Globes, we’ve put together a list of the all-time worst dressed celebrities to ever attend these tony awards. And while some entries are obvious — ahem, Lara Flynn Boyle — some may surprise you. Who would have thought the words Diane Kruger and Marchesa would go together so terribly.
If the iPad won’t save magazine sales, Lady Gaga sure will. WWD reports that the not-so-simple act of booking, interviewing, profiling and photographing the mother monster has big impact on magazine sales. According the the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the magazines that featured Gaga in all her glossy gorgeousness sold more copies than virtually any other magazine.
