Precedent dictates that Jessica Alba plus Versace Atelier equals Holy Grail of Hot, meaning there were technically two ladies who took home that prize at this year’s Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards.
You’ve gotta love Instagram for lifting the veil on the crazy amount of work that goes into prepping celebrities for major events like the Met Gala. It’s no small feat putting together a look that will appease both Anna Wintour and the hordes of online critics while still being comfortable enough to rock the night away in. In fact, “Chaos to Couture” is probably an apt description for all of the teasing, trimming, shellacking, pinning, and fitting that goes into every look. Thanks to behind-the-scenes pics, we’ve got a look at how Jessica Biel, Madonna, Gisele Bündchen, and more got ready for the punk extravaganza.
Perhaps in an attempt to protect their best designer duds from getting ruined with Nickelodeon’s trademark slime, the stars that hit the orange carpet last night for the Kids’ Choice Awards kept it, for the most part, pretty simple.
Jessica Alba‘s a busy gal these days. Her book The Honest Life just hit the shelves, and she’s pounding the promotional pavement on its behalf, but the mother of two hasn’t allowed even a momentary lapse in her signature California cool-girl style. Case in point.
Jessica Alba proved her reliability as a red carpet superstar at the 24th Annual Producers Guild Awards last night, but other stars didn’t fare so well. See the photos of who fashion flopped last night.
As Sundance Film Festival continues on its merry way down in Utah, celebrities like Kate Bosworth, Elizabeth Olsen, and Dakota Fanning stepped out yesterday to pose for the cameras and promote their new movies. In NYC, a handful of stars braved the chilly temps to take in screenings and fête their latest projects, while in Los Angeles, many donned skimpy frocks and strappy sandals because it’s California and they can do things like that. Not that we’re jealous or anything.
The fashion at the Golden Globes didn’t just stop when the show ended — it continued at the after parties. HBO, Fox, and InStyle all hosted their own star studded fetes, giving us another opportunity to gawk at pretty gowns and surprise appearances by some well-dressed Olympians. Spoiler alert: sorry, Ryan Lochte didn’t stop by.
Before we go any further, let’s just acknowledge that Marion Cotillard had the best look of the night. Draped in a scarlet Dior (surprise!) dress custom designed for her by Raf Simons, the Dark Knight Rises star managed to look modern, natural, and drop-dead gorgeous in one sleek fell swoop. But that isn’t to say she wasn’t given a run for her money on the evening’s red carpet.
Over the weekend, famous moms like Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, and Rachel Zoe attended the Baby2Baby Gala in California, while Aussies like Nicole Kidman wore their fanciest fascinators and hats for Derby Day. But who had the best look?
Montblanc, purveyors of expensive timepieces, pens, and other such luxurious niceties, celebrated the opening of their newest (and biggest!) concept store ever in Beijing last night, luring stars from both East and West to walk the red carpet and talk about all their fancy wares.
At Glamour UK‘s Women of the Year Awards in London last night, the red carpet was filled with glitz and Donatella Versace‘s jacked-up biceps.
If hitting March 1 didn’t make you think Spring is almost here, a look at Jessica Alba’s wardrobe might. The actress’s recent affinity for bold color is at an all-time high as she headed into Paris Fashion Week in nearly every rainbow-hued wash of skinny jeans. But that’s not the only way Alba’s sporting the season’s call to color. We’ve tracked the actress’s spot-on brights for more than a month, and each of her looks is a perfect lesson in color-mixing and cool contrasts. Whether it’s her newly adopted uniform (read: black coat and flavor-of-the-day colored denim), or a dressier combo of Erdem florals and a flash of pretty green on her Doo.Ri coat, Jessica’s proved she can work the color wheel like no one else. Click on for her flawless color-injected looks and the styling tips we’ve garnered from each — then shop our bright Spring picks to suit up in your own brilliant hues.
Oh, Bravo. I thought we were over this! This episode had the perfect blend of domestic drama, styling, and Brad Goreski and Gary Janetti’s dogs, but it was derailed three quarters of the way through by yet another subplot about Brad’s “struggling” business.
Brad Goreski was an invisible guest star on several episodes of The Rachel Zoe Project this season, and his absence hinted at some bad blood between the stylist and his über-famous boss. It’s a Brad, Brad World, which premieres Monday, January 2nd on Bravo, is Goreski’s opportunity show the world what he’s been doing since his defection from Team Zoe. He took the time to sit down with us for an interview about the new show, his old boss, and the business he loves so much.
What would a Versace for H&M fashion show be without tons and tons of celebrities?
It’s not every day that you can get one world-famous billionaire to sit down and chat with another world-famous billionaire in front of a live audience, but last night Oprah Winfrey and Ralph Lauren did just that. Winfrey interviewed the designer in front of a star-studded audience in New York’s Lincoln Center — and the talk ended with a redux of the designer’s spring show.
It’s always fun to see celebrities model. Mainly because you get to see them in a slightly different light but also because it’s a great way to see that modeling, while certainly made easier on the genetically blessed, does require some actual skill. Jessica Alba offers her best smize for Michelangelo Di Battista’s camera in this month’s Vogue Italia, but while the Prada and Dior are as stunning as Alba is, her inability to make anything but the same face over and over again is somewhat distracting.
The BAFTA Awards are the British version of the Oscars (BAFTA stands for British Academy of Film and Television Arts, by the way). As such, the show’s red carpet can be quite a glamorous spectacle. Though there were some definite hits (Emma Stone, you go girl!), there weren’t too many looks we went crazy for. Even Styleite fave Emma Watson kind of disappointed!
In case you don’t know, The Trevor Project is a really awesome nonprofit that runs a suicide prevention hotline for LGBT youth. They also provide all sorts of resources for parents and teachers. They have tons of support in Hollywood — Harry Potter himself made a huge donation to the organization last year. And last night celebrities turned out for the annual Trevor Live fundraiser in LA.
Last night was so chock full of events that we just couldn’t decide which one to attend! Well, that’s a lie, but all of our invites did seem to get lost in the mail. So instead we bring you the next best thing: a red carpet roundup of Blake Lively, Natalie Portman and other stylish stars.
