You’ve gotta love Instagram for lifting the veil on the crazy amount of work that goes into prepping celebrities for major events like the Met Gala. It’s no small feat putting together a look that will appease both Anna Wintour and the hordes of online critics while still being comfortable enough to rock the night away in. In fact, “Chaos to Couture” is probably an apt description for all of the teasing, trimming, shellacking, pinning, and fitting that goes into every look. Thanks to behind-the-scenes pics, we’ve got a look at how Jessica Biel, Madonna, Gisele Bündchen, and more got ready for the punk extravaganza.
The crowd at TIME’s annual 100 Most Influential People Gala is by definition an impressive one. But did the gowns at last night’s event do justice to their wearers? Click through to find out.
Tom Ford and Justin Timberlake are both in the midst of comeback moments of sorts. Last month, JT released “Suit & Tie”, his first single since 2006, and now the singer is prepping for the release of his full-length album and subsequent tour. Today, Ford staged his first full-scale runway show in London since launching his label in 2010. Oh, and did we mention the handsome pair are also collaborating with one another?
Today is a good day for Jessica Biel, fashion-wise. First she won us over on the red carpet with her weird but wonderful tie-dyed Versace dress, and now she’s smiling out at us from the cover of Elle‘s January 2013 issue in Raf Simons‘ Christian Dior.
The parade of Chanel “Little Black Jacket” exhibitions marched on in Berlin last night, drawing the usual coterie of chic femmes. Stateside, Jessica Biel and Helen Mirren fêted “Hitchcock” in high fashion threads, Nicki Minaj stepped out in hot, hot pink, and the Rihanna Plane finally touched down in NYC.
Dressing for the red carpet in the winter can be problematic (so long, dreamy dresses and cute skirts), but not impossible. Case in point: at the New York City premiere of Hitchcock, stars like Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel, and more managed to make some serious sartorial statements despite the chilly temps.
Ever since Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel tied the knot on Friday, we’ve been waiting with bated breath for deets about their big day. Tidbits are slowly but surely coming in, and we’ve got it all right here.
After five years of dating, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel finally tied the knot — congrats, you love birds! There was speculation that they would get married over the weekend just like their fellow celebs, but those two fooled us all by getting married today. A Friday!
Good: Jessica Biel‘s nail art and stand-out heels. Bad: Katie Price‘s all-over fringe. Nearly naked: Rebecca Ferdinando. Never heard of her? Us neither.
Usually co-stars don’t choose to coordinate ensembles on the red carpet. It can make for somewhat awkward photos, you see. But Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale threw caution to the wind and went for the matchy-matchy look in similar cerulean footwear yesterday for their Total Recall Berlin photocall.
Last night saw two big movie premieres: Total Recall in New York and The Campaign in Los Angeles. In general, the ladies on both coasts did reasonably well. Everyone looked red-carpet ready, and we didn’t spot anything ill-fitting, which is half the battle. That said, a lot of the ensembles were still pretty “meh”, and obviously some did better than others.
Following in the well-heeled footsteps of Marion Cotillard and Rachel Weisz, Jessica Biel is the third person to wear a Christian Dior couture dress from Raf Simons‘s debut show. The future Mrs. Timberlake donned a pink strapless creation (with pockets!) at the west coast premiere of Total Recall. Naturally, we have thoughts.
Jessica Biel flashed her ring at an event last night. She recently told Jimmy Kimmel that Timberlake “has class” and that he picked out the ring himself. “I like that guy a lot,” she said. We would too, if we had that Beyoncé-grade rock weighing down our left hand.
We did a double-take at each look on last night’s ESPY Awards red carpet. We’re used to seeing female athletes in uniforms, so it was a lovely surprise to finally see the ladies all gussied up. Awesome dresses! Pretty hair! Fake tans! Some missed the mark, while others transformed into glamazons.
Jessica Biel is W‘s April cover girl! The actress wears a white Louis Vuitton swimsuit on the front of the glossy, which also gave her the winking teaser “Bringing Sexy Back”. (Get it? Because of Justin? Great.)
Look, not everyone can be the best, and at no time of the year is that clearer than during award show season. Not because some people win awards and others don’t, but because some people just can’t manage to dress themselves before they hit the red carpet.
Pretty person to marry other pretty person.
On Thursday, Fashion Group International celebrated their Night of Stars. Jessica Biel celebrated her shoulders.
