Vogue‘s Incredible Hurricane Sandy Shoot Honors Hometown Heroes

After Hurricane Sandy ravaged the East Coast this past October, Vogue teamed up with the CFDA to raise $1.7 million for relief efforts through their Fashion for Sandy Relief auction, which offered lots like tea with Grace Coddington and an internship stint with DKNY PR Girl Aliza Licht. This month, the magazine is honoring New York’s heroic emergency response teams who got the city back on its feet after the storm, and are still working in the harder hit areas to this day, with a powerful and beautifully-shot editorial in the February issue.

BREAKING: Brights are in for spring. That’s the lesson we think we’re supposed to learn from the cover of the newest edition of French Elle. What else are we supposed to take away from the bifold? Well, the 70s are here again (again!), the Farah Fawcett haircut still reigns supreme after all these years, and if your bangles aren’t dyed to match your platform espadrilles, they don’t deserve to see the light of day.

Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority is normally pretty quick to ban ads people complain about. But when it received angry letters about the model in Miu Miu‘s spring ad campaign being too thin, it made a mildly surprising decision not to pull the ad from public view.
