Windy days sure are tricky when you’re one of the most photographed women in the world, as Kate Middleton found out the hard way recently. Getting caught by a gust of wind at a wedding in Oxfordshire last week, her polka dotted Topshop dress was blown up by the breeze.
Sure, it would be more fun to outfit the real live Duchess, but sometimes a pen and paper will just have to suffice, and today WWD asked a bevy of designers to come up with dresses fit for the last few months of Kate Middleton’s pregnancy. As you might expect, some options look more realistic than others.

Kate Middleton has been a big supporter of children’s hospices for quite some time, and now she’s lending her voice for the UK’s Children’s Hospice Week from April 26 to May 3.

Last month, a certain London-based brand talked about how the Kate Middleton Effect almost caused their company to come crashing down after demand for their dresses soared out of control. Now, they’ve signed on with Banana Republic for a 40-piece collection debuting August 6. Can you guess the label? Here’s a hint: that royal blue wrap dress.
We’re so over coats. SO over them. Bring on the sundresses and breezy spring jackets, we say! That is, until every time Kate Middleton goes and steps out in a smart new woolen topper. Then we’re right back to our usual lust for layers — if not so much the temperatures that make them necessary. Today, the Duchess continued her Scotland tour with in Barrow-in-Furness, wearing a scarlet angora Armani coat that she dug out from way back in the depths of her closet.
Kate Middleton is in Scotland this week, and she’s certainly getting into the national spirit. For one thing, she has swapped over to her local title, the Countess of Strathearn, and on top of that, this morning she debuted a new, pregnancy-friendly coat by UK label Moloh — in an oh-so-Scottish tartan print.
Not that we were expecting an invite or anything, but it looks like Kate Middleton will be abstaining from a well-known pregnancy rite of passage: the baby shower.
We’re well aware of the Kate Middleton Effect, but according to London’s Sunday Times, it might not always be a a good thing.
If we were in possession of Kate Middleton‘s good looks, we’d probably be content to just sit around all day brushing our chestnut hair and batting our baby blues at the mirror. But after Heidi Agan got told one too many times how closely she resembles the Duchess, she up and quit her job as a waitress to become a Middleton impersonator full time.
Kate Middleton is pregnant, so it’s natural that she take a step back from her Duchess duties, right? Nope, not according to Kate, at least. She spent her day in snowy England hanging out with young scouts, making doughy treats, and generally looking adorable and perfect.
Queen Elizabeth, Kate Middleton, and Prince Philip were out and about in London today to celebrate 150 years of the city’s Underground. The trio visited the Baker Street Underground Station this morning, and of course, the ladies looked great. Oh right, Phil did too.
