If we be anything at this very moment, it would be a fly on Kanye West’s dressing room wall. Just days after he unveiled his paradigm-shifting music video for “Bound 2,” starring he and fiance Kim Kardashian, James Franco and Seth Rogen have made jest of the art piece with “Bound 3″. We’re sitting tight hoping the short will open the floodgates for another Yeezus Twitter tirade.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West don’t care what anyone thinks about their relationship — and you know what? We don’t either. With that, we’re letting it be known that we’re excited that KimYe is engaged. We can’t pretend not to care what a Yeezus wedding would look like — or what all the details of the proposal are. So, here’s what we know so far…
Valentino, Azzedine Alaïa, and Isabel Marant might not be the first names to come to mind amidst a first glance at the Kardashian’s new Lipsky range, but according to birthday girl Kim Kardashian, these storied designers inspired their new body-con collection.
One great thing about Kim Kardashian’s life being an open book is that we know exactly how the reality star has managed to lose all the baby weight — The Atkins Diet. In what is perhaps the best free (or so we think) advertisement for the low-carb diet, Kardashian has tweeted out a #NoFilter Instagram of her post-baby body, wearing a barely there swimsuit that puts her famous derrière on full display.
We are considering a switch in career paths from fashion editors to celebrity genetic analysts, because we’re starting to think our obsession with A-list gene pools is more intense than our obsession with shoes. But how could you not have your icy fashion heart melted by this adorable photo of baby North West that Kim Kardashian just shared on Instagram?
New York, we love you, but you can’t deny that few cities inspire envy quite like Paris. Parisian women look better than you do in no makeup and men’s nightgowns, and Parisian selfies make you look über-chic rather than kind of an asshole. It’s also the city where babies are showered with miniature designer outfits and handwritten notes from the world’s coolest designers.
Say you what you want about Kim Kardashian, there’s no arguing that she’s a beautiful canvas to work with. Her exotic countenance and curvy physique are unrivaled, and Carine Roitfeld is smart enough to look past the celebrity and just create art. The storied French editor tapped fellow Kardashian advocate Riccardo Tisci for art direction and Karl Lagerfeld as photographer and created a fashion story in which the pregnant star exhibits alternative maternity wear.
Try as Kanye West might to prevent it, there’s just no way in hell that his daughter North West won’t be thrust into the spotlight and carrying on the family name by way of shameless endorsement – not if momager Kris Jenner has anything to do with it. So it comes as no surprise that reports have already surfaced with speculation that new mother Kim Kardashian will be launching a childrenswear line with her new baby as its posterchild.
Whether incredibly airbrushed, bootylicious, or boob-tastic (erm, all of them), we pulled some of Kim’s most memorable magazine covers. What do you think the next one will be like, now that there’s a little one around?!
We can’t lie. When we got word that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were expecting a girl, we were pretty thrilled. While many fear the spawn of Hollywood’s vainest couple, we know that Kimye’s daughter will be born with her parent’s style coursing through her veins. She’ll be competing with the likes of Blue Ivy and Suri Cruise in no time, and we can’t wait to watch. Since we have to wait a few more months, here’s how we’d dress little North By North West.
Remember the time when people started seeing a pretty brunette hanging around with her bud Paris Hilton, and everybody was like, “Who’s that? Is she famous?” Let’s take a look back at some of Kim’s more interesting looks from the past.
After sneaking onto the makeup market with Khroma Beauty by Kourtney, Kim and Khloe, the sisters Kardashian were slapped with an infringement case by the too-similarly named Kroma Beauty, a Florida-based brand that beat them to the punch. A preliminary injunction back in March meant that the girls’ products could not be sold at the Ulta, CVS, and Duane Reade stores that had already stocked them. Now, Boldface Licensing + Branding has opted to change the name simply to Kardashian Beauty and avoid any further drama.
We certainly weren’t the only ones who put Kim Kardashian on our worst dressed lists after Monday night’s Met Gala. After all, let’s be honest: the sofa memes practically made themselves. But designer Riccardo Tisci is sticking staunchly by his vision, telling WWD that the floral, formfitting, custom Givenchy gown was the perfect mix of romance and rebellion and that Kardashian was “the most beautiful pregnant woman” he has ever dressed.
We’ve been writing about the Metropolitan Museum of Art 2013 Costume Institute Gala for months. Specifically, that the theme this year was Punk: Chaos to Couture. When prepping for this evening, we were sure we’d be penning a ‘too much chaos!’ debrief rounding up an explosion of Sid Vicious-inspired torn denim vests. To our shock and, dare we say, disappointment, the most offensive outfits on tonight’s red carpet weren’t bad because they took the theme too far. They were bad because they completely ignored it.
It may have taken her a few months, but Kim Kardashian seems to have figured out how to dress her growing baby bump without looking extraordinarily uncomfortable. This weekend, she joined her sisters Kourtney and Khloe on a trip to Willowbrook Mall in Houston, Texas, where they launched their Kardashian Kollection at the local Sears. Naturally, such an occasion called for something tight and black.
E!’s reality stars stepped out on the black and white carpet at last night’s Upfront event in New York City, and while the night was to celebrate the network and present its future shows, all eyes were on the style hits and misses.
It’s pretty much a rite of passage for a pregnant celebrity to bare their baby bump — just look at Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and Demi Moore. Kim Kardashian may not have landed a magazine cover to debut her bare belly, but considering how she wasn’t even loaned clothes for previous photoshoots, a cover was most definitely out of the question. So she did the next best thing: her own photoshoot.
If you’re looking to promote a healthy living how-to book, showing up to its signing flaunting near-perfect legs in uber short-shorts is probably a good way to do it.
Is there anyone the media loves to hate on quite as much as Kim Kardashian? I know I’ve taken some pleasure in poking fun at the reality star in the past, but standing in line at Duane Reade the other day, I was struck by how singularly icky the tabloids are this week in mocking Kim’s recent weight gain — you know, the one that may have something to do with the fact that she’s six months pregnant.
Are we the only ones who are surprised to hear that the Kardashians didn’t already have a line of tanning lotions?! WWD reports that the perennially bronzed trio are entering the skincare area with a five-unit “tanning system” called Kardashian Sun Kissed, which will hit shelves in April exclusively at Ulta Beauty.
