Despite the small number of fashion folk on the Time‘s 100 Most Influential People list this year, last night’s red carpet was quite stylish.
It’s a day of thanks, a day of family, a day of watching football and parades on the television. But really, it’s a day of food. So while you’re prepping for this afternoon’s gastronomical marathon, we’ve rounded up some of fashion’s favorite faces and asked them what they’ll be stuffing themselves with tonight. Their answers vary from the traditional to the sweet to the downright debaucherous. Take a look and enjoy!
Some women spend weeks picking out the perfect wedding dress, agonizing over fit and fall, shade and shape. And some women have their’s custom designed over the course of 3,000 hours by Ralph Lauren and a team of 100 craftspeople. Lauren Bush falls into the latter.
Lauren Bush Lauren may have just debuted her most recent collaboration for FEED, but she’s already looking forward to the next one. Last night at the launch of the bracelets her charitable foundation produced with Links of London, Bush told us her next collaboration would be a shoe with Toms.
Last night fancy fashion folk gathered for the 15th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards. This was the week Justin Bieber wore an offensive t-shirt, Missoni for Target images were released, and Anna Wintour had dinner with Barack Obama. There was also craziness surrounding the Conde Nast elevator Twitter account and the last days of the Alexander McQueen exhibit.
After months (months!) of speculation, we now know what name Lauren Bush will go by when she marries David Lauren next month at the Lauren ranch in Telluride. Say hello to the future Lauren Bush Lauren.
For as long as they’ve been dating, people have been wondering what designer Lauren Bush would do with her famous moniker should she end up marrying fashion progeny David Lauren. Would she keep her last name? Or would she doff it and, in a wonderful confluence of events, become Mrs. Lauren Lauren? In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Bush reveals not only a sense of humor about the whole thing, but also how she plans on handling her appellation.
We know we’ve spent a fair amount of this week complaining. We’ve complained about the lines, we’ve complained about the subway, and we’ve complained about the rude publicists who talk down to us and belittle our site. But at the end of the day, it’s a pretty darn cool week to complain about — and when it caps off with a show like Ralph Lauren‘s Fall 2011 collection, all of the walking, lugging, and begging all of a sudden seems worthwhile.
Gap, Gap, Gap. Whatever will we do with you? Just two months after the colossal misstep that was their new logo, they’ve misfired again — but this time in the name of charity.
Elle‘s 25th anniversary issue has been met with a little controversy — some of which we’ve harbored right here on Styleite — but we’ll be honest: The short film photographer Carter Smith made featuring the 25 game changers and revolutionaries from the October issue is really quite charming.
