United Colors of Benetton is no stranger to controvserial ads, considering last year’s UnHate campaign featuring world leaders kissing and going as far back as their Oliviero Toscani-lensed series from the ’80s which included a priest and a nun making out. And now they’ve just released the ad images for Spring 2013 and they’re, well, awesome.
Philipp Plein has upped the ante once again with his headline-grabbing ad campaigns — a feat we barely thought possible after casting Lindsay Lohan, Ed Westwick, and Terry Richardson all within the course of a year. But an It girl and some apparent incest will definitely do the trick!
First Mischa, than LiLo, then Ed Westwick. Now it’s Léa T‘s turn to drum up some publicity for designer Philipp Plein.
Lea T has returned to the runway — and for the first since undergoing gender reassignment surgery last year.
This week there was a lot to love — Tavi singing Joni Mitchell, Lea T snagging another magazine cover, a brave girl giving an awesome makeup tutorial. But there was also a whole lot to hate. Justin Bieber ruined Christmas! Terry Richardson remained really creepy! Little girls got bikini waxes!
Just because male model Andrej Pejic has made a career out of leaving his “gender open to artistic interpretation” doesn’t mean he’s comfortable being put in the same category as transgendered people — especially the superstar Brazilian model Lea T.
Lea T totally rules. The transgender model is on the cover of this month’s Elle Brasil looking all kinds of awesome.
First we saw behind-the-scenes photos of the Terry Richardson-lensed Blue Man shoot starring Lea T, and then we saw her walk the runway for the Brazilian swimwear brand. Now we have actual campaign images!
Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci has demonstrated his affinity for a certain degree of otherness in his ad campaigns. So we were surprised by how unsurprised we were by Tisci’s choice of actress Liv Tyler as the face of his current beauty campaigns. Tyler is undeniably beautiful. But does she illustrate otherness? Not in the least.
This was the week companies did dumb things and then apologized to models. (We’re looking at you, FHM and Cadbury!) Diane von Furstenberg is continuing to expand her empire, while Lady Gaga‘s costumes put her in massive debt. Also, would you wear a dress made of cheese?
This week we saw behind-the-scenes pictures of Lea T‘s Blue Man swimwear campaign, and now we have photos of the bikini-clad transgender model rocking the runway at Fashion Rio.
Lea T sure knows how to strike a pose — plus her killer cheekbones don’t hurt either. The transgender model is on the cover of FFW Mag!, and the entire spread is rather stunning.
Because we just can’t get enough of Andrej Pejic, we present to you the latest interview with the androgynous model. StyleCaster got a hold of the Block Magazine editorial featuring Andrej, and we’re going to break down the five most important things to be gleaned from it.
This week we went to more fashion shows than we knew was possible, consumed a whole lot of Lady Gaga news and got to see Carine Roitfeld‘s last Vogue Paris cover. We were also privy to the Grammys red carpet, some fancy dogs and Lea T‘s Oprah appearance. So, yeah, it was a pretty great week.
Lea T had a great week and Gap had a horrible one, while Tom Ford was simply misunderstood. What else happened? Kanye and Karl teamed up, Rihanna may be a copycat and Gaga‘s Vogue cover is here.
We’ve known this for a while, but Lea T‘s interview with Models.com confirms it: she’s really, really awesome. We can’t wait for the transgender model‘s appearance on Oprah, and Lea’s most recent interview gives some amazing insight into her life.
We adored the first version of Lea T‘s LOVE cover — the one where she was kissing Kate Moss. The gender play was a perfect fit for the mag’s androgyny issue, and the photo was stunning. Now it looks like Lea was also given a solo cover (à la Justin Bieber). Not surprisingly, she looks great.
First came the ad campaigns, then the magazine covers and now the runway shows. Transgender model and Riccardo Tisci muse Lea T took her first walk down the runway last night, at the Alexandre Herchcovitch show at Sao Paulo Fashion Week. This means all sorts of things for the native Brazilian.
