Gossip Girl sure knows how to attract the cool young things. At last night’s soiree celebrating the series’ 100th episode, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and crew were joined by the awesome one-two punch of Chloe Moretz and Karlie Kloss. Whatever did they wear?!
Fashion’s Night Out is tonight! There will be shopping! And food! And complimentary beverages of the alcoholic variety! But perhaps most importantly, there will be celebrities. Here’s what some of your favorite people will be doing at FNO.
MTV award shows are a whole lot looser than most, and that’s always reflected in the red carpet fashion. Where else could Lady Gaga wear a dress made of meat? Last night’s MTV Movie Awards were no exception. Celebs went short and funky, bright and sparkly, and we have a roundup of the night’s most memorable ensembles just for you!
From everything we know about Kate Middleton to Kate Moss getting naked for Vogue, if you missed something last week, we’ve got you covered.
There’s nothing we love more than a starlet with a sense of humor, which is why we love this faux-PSA Leighton Meester did for the peeps over at Funny or Die. Obviously pegged to her psychotic turn in the Single White Female redux The Roommate, Meester’s video makes it very clear that she likes things her way, or else.
Leighton Meester might be our new favorite style star. While we love the fact that she’s not afraid to take risks on the red carpet, it seems like her choices over the last few months have become more and more spot on — though no less surprising. On Sunday, the new face of Missoni stepped out in a leather cutout dress from Michael Kors‘ 2011 Resort collection.
Here’s the thing. While some celebs play it safe on the red carpet, others understand that an event like the Golden Globes is the perfect opportunity to make a statement. And whether that statement is, “I’m too old and too good an actor to mess about with gowns that are absurdly luxurious” or “Most men’s tuxedos are just plain boring, so I’m going to mix it up” — or even “I’m wearing two different colored shoes and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it” — the five actors in this slideshow made big splashes. And they looked really good doing it. And the best part? Some of them weren’t even nominated!
Natalie Portman isn’t the only celebrity with a sparkly new ad campaign out — Katie Holmes (for Ann Taylor), Leighton Meester (for Missoni) and Rumer Willis (for Badgley Mischka) are also getting in on the action.
Leighton Meester has been trying really hard lately. While at first it seemed like she wanted fashion cred (as per her deals with Vera Wang and Missoni… and that ill-advised Marchesa jumpsuit), her latest endeavor has us wondering if she’s just in it for the cold hard cash. Why? Because she’s now repping Espoir, a South Korean cosmetic company that she doesn’t really seem to, uh, get behind.
Chevron lovers everywhere rejoice! Fashion blogs on both sides of the pond are in a froth over a rumor that Leighton Meester, best known for her flawless portrayal of Gossip Girl‘s Blair Waldorf, has been asked to be the new face of Missoni.
Last night, John Galliano and a gaggle of his muses celebrated the reopening of Dior’s flagship store at 57th Street in New York City but also the appointment of Natalie Portman as the new face of the brand.
Last night’s Gotham Independent Film Awards brought out all of our faves — Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore among them. So who ruled the red carpet? Let’s take a look…
What is with those Gossip Girl girls this week? First Blake has a bra faux pas, and now Leighton looks all sorts of crazy in a lace jumpsuit. What would the people at W think?! Seriously, let’s discuss Leighton cuckoo outfit choice for last night’s Harry Winston cocktail party.
This week we were able to watch Willow Smith and Donatella Versace on daytime TV. We also got to see Lanvin Hearts H&M in the flesh, and obsess over the many iterations of Gaga. Not to mention we learned Emma Watson wishes she had been naughtier. Awesome.
Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester is all set to be the face of Vera Wang‘s new fragrance. We know she’s making bank with all of her celebrity endorsements, and we’re happy for her because she deserves it. But we have to wonder why Blake Lively hasn’t gotten in on the endorsement-deal act.
Celebrity editorials in magazines are usually about as exciting as stale bread. They’re not bad, per se, but they somehow never live up to their expectations. That said, when we saw these images from Leighton Meester’s spread in the November issue of UK Marie Claire, we stopped, stared, and then sent the link around to everyone on our chat list with the question, “Are these the most beautiful photos you’ve ever seen?” And the answer, resoundingly, was yes.
On Thursday, Melissa George, Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Connelly, and Leighton Meester all stepped out in style to celebrate The Fashion Group International’s 27th annual Night Of Stars awards. Who do you think was best dressed?
There were all sorts of events last night (the Hollywood Awards Gala, the Glamour Reel Moments event, the London Film Festival), which means lots and lots of red carpet action. We’ve combed through hundreds of pictures to bring you some of the highlights. Let us know who you think stunned (and who should be shunned)!
Last night, Manhattan’s most fashionable — and those who could afford tickets — converged on Lincoln Center for Anna Wintour‘s “consumer-oriented” brainchild, Fashion’s Night Out: The Show. And while we have runway pics and photos of Pharrell and N.E.R.D.’s performance coming later, let’s take a look at who made the guest list and, more importantly, what they wore.
We’ll be honest, we were inspired to do this post when we saw Blake Lively’s outfit because, well, it’s pretty terrible. Then we took a look at Leighton Meester to see if she was holding her sartorial head up high and we were confused. Isn’t it July? In Paris? And so, in this mini-edition of Fashion Wars, we’re turning the question around, and asking you which look was worse.
