Fashion world crushes come and go, but our unapologetic love for stylist and LOVE magazine editrix Katie Grand will probably never die. And that’s because in addition to working on a new exhibit for Louis Vuitton and advising lots of famous people on their wardrobe choices, she still has time to produce a stellar magazine.

10 Important Things We Learned Last Week: July 31-August 6

This was the week we saw Karl Lagerfeld without his signature shades. Frightening! This week was also Shark Week. A whole lot of crimes of fashion were committed — and we’re not just talking about Kate and Prince William‘s matching outfits. Plus, a 10-year-old model ignited a firestorm of industry controversy.

Why Linda’s $46K Child Support Request Is Kind Of Reasonable

New York City Ballet & The School Of American Ballet Present The Nutcracker

Earlier this week we learned the shocking amount of money Linda Evangelista is fighting to get in child support from her baby daddy Francois-Henri Pinault. And while at first glance the $46,000 a month the model is demanding might seem just a little excessive, the Wall Street Journal has managed to find away to make all the needs of little Augustin James seem downright appropriate.

Linda Evangelista Wants Cash From Baby Daddy François-Henri Pinault

Just a month ago it was revealed that PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault fathered Linda Evangelista‘s 4-year-old son Augustin James. This was super scandalous! Of course, neither the supermodel nor her high-powered baby daddy ever wanted the secret to get out — that is, until Evangelista took Pinault to Manhattan Family Court for child support.

TIME WARP: Supers Reign Supreme In Epic 1995 John Galliano Show

thumb

Last week was Dior’s first couture show in 14 years without John Galliano at the helm. And people hated it. The embattled designer is still awaiting sentencing for his public insult trial, though Bernard Arnault has stated Galliano will never work for LVMH again. That is all to say, his future is uncertain, but we do know a thing or two about his professional past.

This week there were more fancy weddings than you can shake a fallopian tube inspired hat at. There were also lawsuits, a couple big September issue reveals, and the revelation that one very bold-faced fashion name is the baby daddy of Linda Evangelista’s four-year-old son.

You may know François-Henri Pinault as the CEO of PPR, that big ol’ conglomerate that owns Gucci Group, which includes Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, and Balenciaga. You may also know him as Salma Hayek‘s husband. You probably don’t know him as Linda Evangelista‘s baby daddy. But, hey, he is!

The June/July cover of Vogue Paris is here, and Emmanuelle Alt has chosen Isabeli Fontana as her cover girl. We love the super-saturated Mert & Marcus photo, but does Fontana remind you of anyone?

GALLERY: 9 Models And Their Equally Gorgeous Pups

0-modelsanddogs

On Monday, we confessed to being dog people brought you pictures of designers with their four-legged friends. And now, we bring you models with their dogs! We don’t know if it’s because models prefer their dogs to be as petite and cute as they are or because these pictures were taken shortly after these ladies got their dogs, but most of the photos feature really small pooches. Linda Evangelista‘s Enzo is the medium-sized dog in our gallery, but that doesn’t make him any less adorable than the others!

WATCH: Linda Evangelista Justifies $10K Comment

Of all the great 90s supermodels, Linda Evangelista may be the most famous for her outspoken attitude and chameleon-like style — which naturally she means she makes for a great interview. During our daily troll for blasts from the pasts, we stumbled upon this 1991 interview with the supe for MTV’s Stylissmo, in which Evangelista justifies her infamous $10,000 a day comment and charitably offers her catwalking services gratis for “up and coming ” designer Herve Leger.

Fashion Designers Get A Disney Makeover

elleapril2010008

One of the most memorable spreads of the last few years was when Harper’s Bazaar went all cartoony on us with their Simpsons in Paris spread. Linda Evangelista was their guide and Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, Jean Paul Gaultier, and others all made cameos in the illustrated presence of Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa. Elle Espana has taken a cue from Bazaar and given some of the industry’s most important designers a Disney makeover.

WATCH: The Craziest Fragrance Commercial Ever Made

0-opium

Perfume commercials are notoriously strange and certainly kitschy, but when we stumbled upon this 80s ad for Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium perfume starring Linda Evangelista, we were left speechless and inclined to watch it on repeat. The storyline for the thirty second spot appears to have something to do with organized crime, ninjas, torchlit temples, and a loincloth clothed man-slave who is inexplicably obsessed with the scent of Opium.

Gisele’s Vogue Cover And The Return Of The Supermodel

gisele-bundchen-vogue-april-2010-cover

Once upon a time, the cover ladies of fashion’s most important and influential magazines were referred to as Supermodels. But with the advent of tabloids and the obsession with celebrity culture, fashion magazines steered away from model-covers and opted for actresses, musicians, and socialites instead. And then Kate Moss graced the cover of W’s September Issue, Linda Evangelista the cover of November, and now this month’s Vogue features a decidedly 90s-inspired Gisele Bundchen.
