Pretty much any video content of Ryan Lochte talking is gold-medal worthy, and we’ve got plenty of it this morning.
As we’ve learned over the course of this year’s Olympic games, many of the athletes competing could be gunning for careers in fashion just as well as they are for the gold. They’ve been featured in Vogue, they wear Alexander McQueen, and they flash some sweet grillz. Just kidding about the last one! Still, it seemed appropriate to do a roundup of Olympians past and present looking snazzy on the red carpet.
Track and field gold medalist Jessica Ennis is quite possibly the world’s fastest fashionista. She showed up to a VIP event at Omega House in London wearing a lovely coral Alexander McQueen frock, which means she just won some real style cred.
Looks like we should’ve trained as gymnasts when we were younger, because the gold-winning Team USA just lived one of our dreams: they met Kate Middleton.
Looks like Ryan Lochte isn’t going to be staying ‘under the profile’ for long. Then again, did he ever?
The first thing that Ryan Lochte does after swimming in the Olympics? Hit up red carpets with leggy ladies, obviously. Swimming’s hottest (maybe) bachelor was spotted at a Speedo event in London last night with model Annabeth Murphy-Thomas, who was wearing a very strange frock made of excess swimsuit material. HUH?
Women’s water polo is seriously brutal. There can be kicking, scratching, and of course, suit-pulling — which is what caused someone’s breast to pop out in the U.S. vs. Spain match yesterday.
Did you see the women’s gymnastics team final yesterday? The leotards the Americans wore were SHINY. Like, disco ball-level shiny.
American swimmer Ryan Lochte flashed this diamond-studded American flag grill after winning the men’s 400m individual medley Saturday.
The beloved Queen of England took in the opening ceremony of the London Olympics, looking as stunning as ever in pastel peach.
We’ll readily admit we have Olympics fever, but did you catch the opening ceremony Friday night? More importantly, did you catch the uniforms? From the Democratic Republic of Congo’s teal pants to Brazil’s neon green and yellow miniskirts, we’ve got every last look in the gallery below. And if you don’t see your favorite, don’t worry — we’re uploading as we go.
Let the Olympic festivities begin! The was a reception at Buckingham Palace today to welcome heads of state attending the Opening Ceremony, A.K.A. a fashion extravaganza. Oh, and our dreams came true as MObama and KMid totally hung out.
The first lady had a busy day today! MObama is currently across the pond for the Olympic festivities, and she changed outfits thrice while rushing from the press conference to welcome Team USA to an event for her Let’s Move campaign.
Click through the gallery to see what Chris Benz, Jonathan Adler, Rebecca Minkoff, Mary Alice Stephenson, and Amy Smilovic had to say about the Olympics. What we learned: everyone loves men’s swimming. Also, the Opening Ceremony is today, you guys!!
There was (is?) a big fuss over Ralph Lauren making the U.S. Olympic team‘s gear in China, but at least he didn’t do anything illegal when he outsourced labor overseas. What the Egyptian Olympic committee is doing, however, is very illegal: they’re dressing their athletes in counterfeit Nike gear.
