Sometimes two dresses are better than one — especially when you’re going from a formal soirée at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to a late night party at the Standard Hotel. But while many guests at last night’s Met Gala opted to stick with their red carpet pick, a handful pulled out second designer looks for the latter half of the evening.
It’s baseball season, everyone! Major League games started up once again Sunday, and even though the Red Sox beat the Yankees (boo! hiss!), we’re still ready to celebrate the occasion with a look back at one of the most stylish players ever to step up to the plate — even if she isn’t really what you’d call a pro.
At the very least we can say that Madonna’s ensemble last night at the GLAAD Media Awards caught our attention.
Listen, when you’re Valentino, you can do whatever you want. Like, for example, play music obnoxiously loud on New year’s Eve — and get away with it.
Times Square on New Year’s Eve? Pft, not for Madonna and
Fantine Anne Hathaway.
Someone out there clearly has a case of Blonde Ambition. Two of the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier cone bras that Madonna wore on her Blonde Ambition tour in 1990 have been sold through Christie’s auction house in London for £48,000, or about $77,000 at current exchange.
As much as we’re dreading this year’s Fashion’s Night Out, we were pretty amazed at its new PSA. It failed to hype us up for FNO, but it did make us giggle. The normal fashion crew of Marc Jacobs, Karlie Kloss, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Paré, and Solange Knowles make appearances in the video. But wait, hold the phone — is that Tyson Chandler?? Yeah, he’s in it too! And why is Darren Criss singing a Madonna song?
Madonna has been on the cover of hundreds of magazines throughout the years, running the gamut from Vogue to Elle to Playboy. To celebrate the pop icon’s 54th birthday, we’ve rounded up twenty of her absolute best best cover appearances.
She’s still got it, guys.
Some things change, some things say the same, and Madonna will court controversy wherever she goes. During a concert in Istanbul, Turkey last Thursday night, the Queen of Pop flashed the audience in a move so deliberate it made Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl XXXVIII “nip slip” look like a case of bad wardrobe tape.
The more things change, the more things stay the same. This time, Madonna, the queen of reinvention, kicked off her worldwide MDNA tour with a throwback to 1990′s iconic Blonde Ambition cone bra corset, designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Madonna has tapped Georgia May Jagger to front her new Material Girljuniors line. The 20-year-old model will star in back-to-school campaigns.
Madonna just launched her first fragrance, Truth or Dare, last week, but she already has another one in the works. Groan.
Last night Madonna launched her first fragrance, Truth or Dare, at New York’s Macy’s flagship.
RIP the VH1 Fashion Awards. The silly/amazing award show hasn’t existed for the past decade, but the archived clips are pure fashion gold.
The ad for Madonna’s upcoming fragrance, Truth or Dare, dropped this week and it’s already stirring up controversy.
Take a break from your St. Patty’s Day revelry to listen to Madonna‘s new track, check out Kate Middleton‘s festive outfit, and muse about the no makeup trend.
Madonna has become the latest celeb to “weigh in” on a Karl Lagerfeld faux pas.
Perhaps the most striking thing about Madonna‘s film W.E. is the incredible wardrobe worn by a fictionalized Wallis Simpson and King Edward VIII. The clothes and the jewelry are truly sights to behold, and the film’s costume designer Arianne Phillips will vie for an Oscar this Sunday.
“We’re seeing a Madonna movie, right?” This is the question posed by a film critic at the W.E. screening we attended back in December. Another critic nods. “Why the hell not,” shrugs the first. Early reviews had been ambivalent at best, and the audience is equal parts skeptical and amused as wait to see Madonna‘s directorial debut. The day after the screening we find ourselves face-to-face with the Queen of Pop herself.
