It’s more is more for many designers this resort season, who are taking the #blingring hype and sprinting with it. And we’re not complaining – there’s something about ostentatious embellishment that plays to our inner child while making our inner Anna Dello Russo ravenous.
While we adore Marc by Marc Jacobs, its always exciting when a brand taps new talent. Today, news broke that there will be some major changes at the younger MJ label. Who will introduce us to a new era of chic wares?
We may all want to while away the hours prancing from one sample sale to the next, or loading our virtual shopping carts with an entire season’s worth of new duds. Of course, real life (and even realer bank accounts) get in the way. The Goods, our new curated daily feature, delivers one standout steal hand-selected for your quick and easy shopping pleasure. Today’s find: a nautical Marc by Marc Jacobs swimsuit you can wear even if you’re not in shipshape (yet).
We were stunned to see that one of Taylor Tomasi Hill‘s dresses from her Lane Crawford collection was nearly identical to a Marc by Marc Jacobs number from spring 2008. Alas, this isn’t the only dud TTH ripped off for her collection.
Yesterday everyone was oh-so-excited that former Marie Claire editor/current Moda Operandi artistic director/perennial street style star Taylor Tomasi Hill designed some clothes. While the Lane Crawford collection is cute, it’s not particularly original.
This was the week we welcomed Kate Middleton to the States! She looked awesome in McQueen, but her visit wasn’t without controversy. We also got our regular fashion-filled doses of Justin Bieber, Emma Watson, and Kanye — plus a surprise Sarah Jessica Parker reappearance.
Marc Jacobs is all about the Fanning sisters — and admittedly, so are we. Dakota is starring in his Oh, Lola! fragrance ads, but younger sis Elle landed the fall Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign. And now all the images are here!
New York Fashion Week is finally over! It was exciting, beautiful, disorganized, fun and most of all exhausting. And we loved every second of it.
Styleite intern Rika Nurrahmah agreed to take on an abridged version of the shopper’s diet challenge. Find out what she wore, when she wore it, and how she coped with a limited wardrobe.
We’ll admit it: we can never get enough of Marc Jacob’s. We blushed when we stumbled upon the racy ad for his BANG cologne, were amused by the alter-ego personality of 1987 Marc, and felt okay about our vanity woes when he admitted to relieving his thinning mane by getting hair transplants. And now Daily Front Row reports that Jacobs recently granted California-native and cancer patient Jennifer Ridgley her wish of spending a dream day with the designer himself!
You know summer has officially arrived when recaps of the resort collections start trickling in. At least that’s how you know if your world consists of designer daydreaming and couture coveting. As we previously reported, winter birds and cold weather jetsetters will be cruising and yachting this year in girly frocks and preppy ensembles on posh vacays around the globe.
