Marc Jacobs Page 2
Marc Jacobs has named relatively new-to-us model Ruby Jean Wilson as the face of his next Juergen Teller-lensed campaign. Wilson opened and closed his spring 2013 show, and it’s safe to say that she’ll be on everyone’s radar from now on.
Last season, Marc Jacobs piled his models aboard the Louis Vuitton express, a custom-built steam engine that reportedly cost the house $8 million. This year he toned it down a tad, merely installing functional escalators for the LV girls to ride on their way down to the lemon yellow-and-white checked runway.
Remember when Marc Jacobs was cast in the indie movie Disconnect last year, but we had no idea what kind of character he’d play? Well, now we know!
Fragrance reviews are silly, but sometimes, fragrance marketing is even sillier. What do “playful past times” and “nostalgia” really smell like? So from now on, we’ll be crowdsourcing our own fragrance reviews. Read on to find out what our office thought about the latest sample to land on our desk. This week, we’re sniffing Marc Jacobs Dot.
As much as we’re dreading this year’s Fashion’s Night Out, we were pretty amazed at its new PSA. It failed to hype us up for FNO, but it did make us giggle. The normal fashion crew of Marc Jacobs, Karlie Kloss, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Paré, and Solange Knowles make appearances in the video. But wait, hold the phone — is that Tyson Chandler?? Yeah, he’s in it too! And why is Darren Criss singing a Madonna song?
If you follow Rihanna on Instagram you’ll know she’s been back on her home island of Barbados lately with another very famous mononymous houseguest: Oprah! Well, the episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter dedicated to the singer finally aired last night, and the interview was just what you’d expect from the pairing of the Queen of Talk with this decade’s Queen of Pop (and, let’s be honest, of scandal, too).
Marc Jacobs‘s ex-boyfriend Austin Armacost is giving everyone an eyeful in his upcoming ads for PETA. The ads were shot last week, and while the official pics haven’t yet been released, two behind-the-scenes images have.
Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton Express have just made their big debut in Shanghai, where the designer recreated his breathtaking fall 2012 Paris show and celebrated the re-opening of the brand’s enormous Maison store.
Obscenities not included.
The American Foundation For Aids Research hosted its annual Inspiration Night at Maxim’s in Paris last night. The event was held in honor of Robert Duffy and Marc Jacobs International, the recipients of the Piaget Award of Inspiration. And there were plenty of celebs there to support a great cause.
In an interview with WSJ last year, Robert Duffy called Marc Jacobs a “fat heroin addict” because he would eat a whole cake from a pastry shop. In a video for German Interview‘s June/July issue, Jacobs responds to the comment and discusses a whole slew of other things.
It’s Memorial Day weekend, which means the dog days of summer are almost upon us! Let’s ring in the season with some very fashionable pooches.
Louis Vuitton‘s season-long train ride is full steam ahead with its latest film starring Purple magazine’s Olivier Zahm.
A friend emailed us this morning about graffiti sprayed on the outside of Marc Jacobs‘s Mercer Street store in Soho. Since we work in the ‘hood, we stopped by and can confirm the store’s exterior was given a Schiaparelli pink makeover.
We see London, we see France, we see Marc Jacobs‘s underpants.
French billionaires just can’t catch a break these days! First PPR chief François-Henri Pinault gets himself embroiled in an ugly child support suit with Linda Evangelista that threatens to drain his bank account of $46,000 per month, and now LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault is compared to a pig farmer by his star designer Marc Jacobs.
