Marchesa Page 2
Admittedly, the bevy of expensive gowns at this year’s Oscars wasn’t the most exciting we’ve ever seen, but that didn’t stop a few looks from standing out. And among the ones that did, there were some pretty clear cut trends. Take a look at the colors and ideas that dominated the night and let us know if you see any trends you’ll be taking off the red carpet.
…Olivia Wilde, hands down. As Justin put it, “It’s like a pair of Louboutins swallowed a box of fireworks.” And though they spent most of the night hidden under the big skirt of her super sparkly Marchesa gown, Wilde certainly made a concerted effort to show them off.
The holidays are here and hopefully you’re either already home or en route to celebrate with your family and friends. But if you’re looking for some yuletide inspiration, WWD caught up with fashion’s biggest names to ask them what their plans where, what their wish lists looked like, and what they plan on wearing. Unsurprisingly, the results ran the gamut from the absurd to the kind, to the downright hilarious. We can always count on Marchesa for a healthy dose of delicious decadence, and Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig‘s spring/summer 2011 certainly does not disappoint. Lace, beading, grand flourishes — the collection is nothing short of sumptuous.
The Academy Of Country Music Awards are a different kind of awards show. The hair is usually bigger and the dresses are most definitely glitzier — at least that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Why expect any different this year, especially considering the awards were held in Vegas? Right? Wrong.
We’ve been waiting for months for photo evidence of the Jersey Shore spread in Harper’s Bazaar, and finally, our wishes have come true. Snooki talks hair, JWoww talks implants, and fingers crossed, Sammy will talk Ronnie. Who would have thought that we’d see Snooki’s name next to J. Mendel, Michael Kors, and Valentino?
