Melissa McCarthy Page 1
When Melissa McCarthy descended upon the red carpet at last night’s ELLE’s Women in Hollywood Awards, we imagine she had primed herself to be bombarded with questions about her controversial cover for the magazine.
See how the stars prepare for tonight’s MTV Movie Awards and how Selena Gomez feels about knowing Channing Tatum will be watching her performance.
It wouldn’t be a proper awards show roundup without the worst dressed yin to the best dressed yang. And although there weren’t too many glaringly offensive fashion foul-ups, there were a few looks that left us scratching our head more than Fantine did after her haircut.
Yesterday everyone who’s up for an Oscar (and a few people who aren’t) gathered at The Beverly Hilton Hotel for a lunch celebrating the fact that it’s an honor just to be nominated. And while we don’t have a say in who will actually win the awards, we can determine right here and now which actress was best-dressed at luncheon.
It’s a post for another day, but how painfully awkward is it to watch Giuliana Rancic interview celebrities (and fill dead space) for a non-stop period of 120 minutes? So painfully awkward! If you were smart and perhaps watched on mute, you would have missed the fact that she asked several lady celebs (Sofia Vergara! Elizabeth Banks!) to name their least favorite body parts — on live television. She actually did that! Anyway, the good news is that while Elizabeth Banks was discussing her runners’ feet, Vogue ambassador and cape connoisseur Andre Leon Talley was busy chatting up Melissa McCarthy. Thank goodness!
With the Golden Globes less than a week away, some of Hollywood’s biggest (and most stylish!) stars took a red carpet warm up lap at the Palm Springs Film Festival Saturday night. While the colors were a little muted — lots of black, beige, and navy — the designs weren’t. Olivia Wilde and Michelle Williams tied for our favorite looks in lace-backed Monique Lhuillier and sequin embellished Miu Miu, respectively.
If you didn’t already think Melissa McCarthy was basically the most awesome person on the planet, you will now. While on Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show, the comedic actress (and clothing designer!) revealed that she was quite the enterprising fashionista back in the day. Not only did she thoroughly embrace ’80s hair trends, she used to wear turtlenecks as makeshift harem pants. Clever and thrifty!
We’ve all had our bad Spanx experiences (which makes us wonder why any of us continue to wear them), but Melissa McCarthy’s tale, involving a nude pair and a group of construction workers.
If you haven’t seen Bridesmaids yet, then you won’t know that actress Melissa McCarthy basically stole the show right out from under her co-stars. And now that she’s made millions of people laugh their faces off (and won an Emmy for her efforts in the TV show Mike and Molly), she’s going to address something she’s been thinking about since she was a kid: plus-sized clothing.
