Met Gala Worst Dressed Page 1
We never thought we’d end up with so much Prada on the worst dressed list for an event in honor of the brand, but it just goes to show that label isn’t everything. On an evening where everyone’s watching (and werking) there really is no room for error.
The Met Gala exists for pretty much one reason and one reason only: capital-F Fashion. (And don’t let the name Costume Institute confuse you — costume is just an academic term for clothing.) While some of last night’s looks made our jaws drop in a really good way, others were hideous, boring, and/or inappropriate.
There’s a little part of us, way deep inside, that feels terrible for sitting on our couch on a rainy Monday night and going through photos of our favorite bold-faced names and judging them purely on their looks. But then we see the Ms. Havisham monstrosity that Kirsten Dunst chose to wore and we shove that part even deeper down inside and carry on our merry, judge-y way. What follows are the most lackluster looks from tonight’s Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala.
