Italian label Marni is launching its first-ever fragrance in February 2013, and the ad campaign stars Brazilian model Raquel Zimmermann.
SHOWstudio founder Nick Knight says he sees fashion as form of communication, and after watching one of his films, it is truly incredible how he manages to say so much without a single word. The fashion photographer, who directed Lady Gaga’s Born This Way video and counted Alexander McQueen as a friend, uses advanced technology and an incredible eye for detail to create some of the most controversial, ground breaking fashion material out there.
The visual language of Lady Gaga‘s upcoming album Born This Way has been established since she released the record’s first single of the same name — it’s all about black and white photography, weird facial protrusions, and a bit of biker chic. The album drops May 23, but today Gaga tweeted the album art, and it’s certainly in keeping with her current aesthetic.
Oh, the things we learned this week! Kanye digs women’s Balmain, Jean Paul Gaultier thinks Gaga rips off Madonna and Willow has great manners. We miss Alexander McQueen, and so does Nick Knight. Unrelated: Queen Elizabeth‘s panties are a thing you can own.
Before Alexander McQueen posthumously takes over the Met, he will be honored by the British Fashion Council. At today’s British Fashion Awards, the late, great designer will receive the award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design.
We’re the first to call Lady Gaga’s clothing, and fashion in general, a work of art. But her urinal? We’re not saying it isn’t, we’re just saying, well, a urinal? Really?
A series of photos featuring an unnamed male model have been slowly leaking onto SHOWStudio.com. Described as images from a Vogue Hommes Japan shoot styled by Nicola Formichetti and shot by Nick Knight (who not-so-coincidentally is the mastermind behind ShowStudio), the photos are stirring up some buzz in the blogosphere as to whether the unnamed male model is really Lady Gaga.
Kate Moss is eleven collections deep at Topshop, and for her twelth, the brand decided to do what so many fashion powerhouses have been doing as of late: make a video, of course! Karl’s doing it, Louboutin is doing it, David Lynch and Dior are doing it, so why not Kate?
