Well, ok, not really. But Angelina Jolie does, finally addressing her infamous Oscar night pose and the veritable media frenzy it sparked post-show.
While everyone else was busy gawping at Angelina Jolie’s leg, Bill O’Reilly watched this year’s Academy Awards red carpet and ceremony with a whole other set of concerns.
It’s a tough call, because basically everyone wore red.
If we’re going to make one sweeping generalization about last night’s Oscar red carpet, it’s that the jewelry ruled. Sure, there were plenty of trends, but none was quite so pervasive as the blinged out baubles which accessorized almost every dress.
Considering she wasn’t nominated for anything, Jennifer Lopez may well have the most talked about dress of the night. Not only did it inspire some controversial (and possibly racist?) comments from E!’s red carpet police panel, but its plunging neckline left no small amount of people wondering if they’d just seen Lopez’ areola on national television.
We want so badly to love everything that Emma Stone wears. We still dream about her perfect Lanvin look from last year’s BAFTAs! That said, we’re undecided about her Oscars ensemble.
Rooney Mara may well have been the most buzzed about actress going into tonight’s red carpet, but her Givenchy Haute Couture gown from Riccardo Tisci‘s Spring 2009 collection left us surprisingly disappointed.
There were some seriously great looks on the Oscars red carpet, but there were also some seriously awful ones. More than one celeb succumbed to bad fit, bad detailing, and/or bad color.
It’s the culmination of months of awards shows, miles of red carpets, and more peplums than you can count, but tonight’s 84th Annual Academy Awards proved a stunning show of creativity, class, and some seriously sick jewelry.
