Oscars red carpet Page 1
We were seriously hoping for Anne Hathaway to wow us in a custom Valentino creation at the Oscars after getting confirmation from the house itself. But, as the story goes, she wore Prada. It was a particularly rude sartorial snub since Valentino Garavani himself designed a gorgeous wedding gown for the Les Mis star, and she hung out with him on New Year’s Eve. Hathaway has been quiet about the matter, and we ourselves have concocted a good number of explanations, but now the actress has released an official statement on the snafu.
It wouldn’t be a proper awards show roundup without the worst dressed yin to the best dressed yang. And although there weren’t too many glaringly offensive fashion foul-ups, there were a few looks that left us scratching our head more than Fantine did after her haircut.
Jennifer Lawrence must be super grateful that the Oscars are over because she can finally eat. We, meanwhile, can finally assess what the stars wore to the biggest red carpet of the awards show season. Obviously, some ladies fared better than others, and we’ve got the best dressed right here.
Well, they were not the most glamorous of accessories, but it looks like they were necessary: Kristen Stewart showed up to tonight’s Oscars ceremony on crutches.
In a sea of Armani, Dior, and diamonds at the Oscars pre-show, there was one dress that swept onto the red carpet with a label that most of us actually have in our closets.
The Oscars are finally here! While you’re busy watching the red carpet livestream, we’ll be updating the gallery below with every single look that steps out in front of the photographers.
For better or for worse, the red carpet at the Oscars is undoubtedly the most buzzed about of the year. Unfortunately, that doesn’t always work out, and so without further ado, we bring you the worst Oscar looks of all time.
If we’re going to make one sweeping generalization about last night’s Oscar red carpet, it’s that the jewelry ruled. Sure, there were plenty of trends, but none was quite so pervasive as the blinged out baubles which accessorized almost every dress.
There were some seriously great looks on the Oscars red carpet, but there were also some seriously awful ones. More than one celeb succumbed to bad fit, bad detailing, and/or bad color.
It’s the culmination of months of awards shows, miles of red carpets, and more peplums than you can count, but tonight’s 84th Annual Academy Awards proved a stunning show of creativity, class, and some seriously sick jewelry. Take a look through our top ten looks of the night below. Who do you think we missed?
The Oscars red carpet show has officially begun. And while we’re live-tweeting and have big plans for our official recaps, we’ll also be uploading as many red carpet looks here as humanly possible — as they happen!
The Oscars are tonight, and we’re livestreaming the film industry’s biggest red carpet of the year right here!
There’s one designer name we won’t be seeing on the red carpet at next week’s Oscar ceremony — and it’s not for lack of interest. In what maybe a first in the history of celebrity red carpets, J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons actually turned down a request for a dress.
Because there’s nothing we love more than spending our Sunday liveblogging a red carpet event with you guys, we’ve got big plans for the upcoming 82nd Annual Academy Awards. Join us, as we watch Natalie Portman and Rachel Zoe go head to head in the battle of the baby bumps, see Ryan Seacrest get (re)snubbed by Brangelina, and keep a live tally of how many dresses each designer has walk down Hollywood’s most watched 300 yards of fabric.
