We hate to see him go, but love to watch him leave.
As Jay Z’s ‘Picasso, Baby’ blared through the Grand Palais’ palatial halls, the models — clad in black crop wigs, sharp Siouxsie Sioux eye makeup, and oversize pearl chokers — stomped past larger-than-life paintings, sculptures, and giant Chanel C’s.
We don’t have a magic crystal ball for which we can see into the future — we imagine such a thing could only belong to the likes of Karl, Anna, and Carine — but we do believe ourselves to possess a certain sixth sense when it comes to models on the horizon of hitting it big, like real big.
It’s going to take more than two topless protestors storming a Paris Fashion Week runway to phase the front row.
Paris Fashion Week is here, and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t most excited for the final dash of fashion. Despite weeks-on-weeks-on-weeks of delivering show-stopping looks, front rowers have saved their best ensembles for last (because they live in a world where style fatigue simply doesn’t exist). Since we’re seasoned in the game of poring over those with the coveted front row perch, we’re not full-fledged green eyed monsters just yet. But watch out, because what we’ve seen so far has us starting to twitch with envy.
It’s stories like this that make us glad we don’t have people eavesdropping in on our lunchtime chats with our girlfriends.
Beauty, business sense, and a heart of gold: supermodel Natalia Vodianova took advantage of all the fashion superstars making their way to Paris this week, and debuted her new shoe collection, the proceeds of which go to benefit her Naked Heart Foundation.
Here’s a change of pace from all of the 5-figure dresses being shown in Paris this week: H&M, purveyor of $10 sweaters and $20 skinny jeans, will show a collection during the haute-est fashion week of them all.
One thing is for sure: protestors in Paris could not care less about fashion week.
Paris Fashion Week draws an A-list yet eclectic mix of stars, like Kanye West, Robert de Niro, Kristen Stewart, and now Princess Charlene of Monaco. The royal sat front row at Akris this Sunday, and we’re pretty sure she wasn’t paid to do so.
Paris Fashion Week just got a double dose of Kristen Stewart! She showed up at the Balenciaga and Balmain shows this morning, and girl looked pretty damn good.
Uh oh. Looks like there’s going to be a big, Kanye-sized hole in the Paris Fashion Week schedule this season, because it’s just been announced that Yeezy will not be showing a collection in the City of Lights next week after all.
Back in January, we thought the fashion week scheduling controversy had been put to rest. Three months later, the CFDA and the British Fashion Council have confirmed that they are indeed moving their dates to accomodate Italy’s Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and France’s Chambre Syndicale.
Only Marc Jacobs could mark the end of Paris Fashion Week — and thus Fashion Month — in a pink polo dress and pilgrim shoes.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
If you ever had any doubt as to how hard Kanye West is trying to make this whole fashion thing happen, let it be known that he has not only hired Jourdan Dunn to walk in today’s show, but appears to have big plans for Azealia Banks to perform.
Yesterday we chatted with Nicola Formichetti as he prepped for Mugler, and today we’re livestreaming the runway show!
Just as we suspected, Kanye West will be showing at Paris Fashion Week again.
