Paris Fashion Week Page 2
The Fashion Week scheduling drama continues to rage on! Let’s take a look at the latest round of statements.
There are plenty of great images that came out of Fashion Month, but perhaps the most memorable is that of Rachel Zoe‘s unbelievably large pile of suitcases.
Oh, man. This Fashion Week scheduling mess is…well, such a mess. Today CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg sent out an open letter to the fashion community, in which she strikes a rather hopeful note.
This is the week Fashion Month ended! Karl Lagerfeld took us under the sea and said crazy things, Anderson Cooper was mad about the Olsens‘ $34,000 backpack, and Anna Wintour brushed off Kanye. Also, WILLOW SMITH IS BACK.
Karl Lagerfeld has took a moment before his spring runway show for Chanel to explain why he decorated his runway like a giant aquarium. Turns out the Kaiser doesn’t find anything quite so modern as things found in the ocean, which are “the oldest shapes in the world.”
Juicy front row tales are what make runway shows so memorable (well, you know, after the clothes), and a princess throwdown is pretty much as good as it gets.
By now you are more than aware that critics and laymen alike really did not enjoy Kanye‘s very first womenswear collection. Kanye tried to preemptively brush off the haters at his runway show’s afterparty, but that didn’t stop everyone from saying their piece.
We’re New Yorkers through and through, but sometimes Paris shows us up. Big time. Yesterday Karl Lagerfeld took us under the sea with Chanel, and today Marc Jacobs incorporated a working carousel into his Louis Vuitton show.
The organizers of New York Fashion Week are about to cause an international crisis, y’all. A scheduling conflict of massive proportions could very well disrupt the already tenuous balance that holds shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris together — and one fashion magazine big wig isn’t helping make the situation any better.
People had lots of not nice things to say about Kanye’s DEBUT FASHIONZ. Now let’s take a look at how Kanye responded to to the criticism!
Kanye West‘s runway in Paris is still warm from the parade of models who came down wearing his freshman effort at a serious fashion line. But the critics have started to speak up, and, unfortunately for him, most of their words are cold.
No, no, there’s not actually an official live stream of Kanye West‘s Paris Fashion Week show per se, but there is a way that you can watch it online in semi-real time.
One sure-fire way to get a standing ovation at a runway show? Make sure your guests can’t sit down.
He may be one of the nicest people we’ve ever sat on a stoop and smoked with, but being friendly hasn’t made Nicola Formichetti an acclaimed designer. In fact, his Mugler women’s show in Paris yesterday has gotten some of the most lackluster reviews we’ve seen all fashion month.
We’ve got pretty tough stomachs here at Styleite, but there’s one thing we’ve seen today kinda makes us want to vomit. Specifically? The dress British designer Rachel Freire made of over 3,000 cow nipples and plans to show at Paris Fashion Week.
Kanye will (potentially) set the fashion world ablaze with his DEBUT FASHIONZ on Saturday, so it’s time for you to get schooled on all the madness.
As you’re well aware, one week from tomorrow Kanye will present his very first clothing collection at Paris Fashion Week. Kanye has confirmed that this is going down, and now one of his collaborators is speaking about the project. Katie Eary, welcome to the big time.
