vuittonthumb

We’re not fragrance experts like Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, the guy Louis Vuitton hired to create its very first mass-produced fragrance, but we do like things that smell nice. Just when you thought that maybe America’s Next Top Model was about to stop being a thing, the licensing geniuses at CBS came up with a way for it to stay alive for at least another year or two. This January, Tyra Banks and company will introduce Dreams Come True, ANTM’s first fragrance.

Justin Bieber Is Launching A Perfume For The Ladies

0-justinbieberfragrance

We could sit here and lightly poke fun at Justin Bieber’s new women’s fragrance all morning, and we we’d actually entertained the idea of doing just that. But then we asked ourselves, what would be the point? Bieber’s new scent Someday is destined to be an olfactory business phenomenon the likes of which we’ve never seen before, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Unless you live in another hemisphere (or in the deep South, or the lower half of California, or some fantasy region we have yet to discover) it’s about to get real cold. And one of the ways we here at Styleite intend to remember the glory of springtime is to smell like a bucket full [...]

You’ll Never Guess Where They Used To Make Chanel No. 5

chanel+no.5

Why is Chanel No. 5 still one of the world’s most important fragrances? Apparently, it’s a Jersey thing. A new book entitled The Secret History of Chanel No. 5 claims that while World War II raged across Europe, production of the famous scent had no choice but to move from Grasse, France to Hoboken, New Jersey.

As total Internet nerds, we here at Styleite love the way Anna Dello Russo approaches social media — by which we mean to say we devour every post she puts up on her blog and follow her every web-based move religiously. So when we found out today that she’ll be selling her new perfume exclusively online, our hearts skipped beats and our browsers almost crashed.

If there’s one thing that can be said about Katy Perry, it’s that she loves kitsch. The shorter, the brighter, the sillier, the tighter: we’re pretty sure that’s her M.O. Which probably explains why we weren’t at all surprised to see that the ad campaign for her new fragrance, Purr, features Perry dressed in a pink and purple latex catsuit, complete with leopard spots and a somewhat creepy plastic tail.

Katy Perry Fans Can Now Smell Like Her!

kperry

Katy Perry says she has over 100 beauty products on her makeup counter, so it’s pretty hard to argue with her when she calls herself a “beauty whore.” And what’s a pop singer and summer hit-maker to do when you have an aforementioned title to live up to? Release your own fragrance, of course!

Your Makeup Is Toxic And This 15 Year Old Has The Solution

Ava-anderson

Earlier today, CNN reported the results of a test on 17 perfumes by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. The results are fairly terrifying, as many of the perfumes contained ingredients that caused “reactions such as asthma, wheezing, headaches and contact dermatitis when they are breathed in absorbed into the skin”. Sean Gray, senior analyst for the Environmental Working Group, conducted the study, insisting “consumers have a right to know what [they’re] putting on [their] bodies.”

Chanel No. 5, created in 1921, was Coco’s first fragrance and unlike most other perfumes, no changes have ever been made to alter its scent. It is estimated that that a bottle of the scent is sold every 55 seconds throughout world. The fragrance may have remained the same, but the advertising certainly hasn’t.
