And now the 20-year-old Frenchman is now being featured in April’s L’Officiel Hommes China — on their cover and in a 10-page and musically-inspired spread, in which he poses as rock icons like Jim Morrison, David Bowie, and in drag as Lady Gaga.

But with the advent of tabloids and the obsession with celebrity culture, fashion magazines steered away from model-covers and opted for actresses, musicians, and socialites instead. And then Kate Moss graced the cover of W’s September Issue, Linda Evangelista the cover of November, and now this month’s Vogue features a decidedly 90s-inspired Gisele Bundchen.
