Queen Elizabeth II Style Page 1
She may be the queen of England, but she still loves herself a good ol’ repeat.
While Kate and Will are spending their Christmas with the Middleton family in Buckleberry, and Harry is still serving in Afghanistan, the rest of the Royal family gathered at Sandringham Estate this morning in Norfolk, England for their annual holiday tradition. And of course, Queen Elizabeth looked great.
Queen Elizabeth doesn’t love a repeat nearly as much as Kate Middleton, but she certainly loves wearing the same color over and over again. Liz attended the weekly Cabinet meeting this morning — the first time a British monarch has attended the event since Queen Victoria‘s reign ended in 1901 — and chose a vibrant royal blue ensemble for the occasion.
Purple may be the color of royalty, but lilac is truly the Queen’s color. For a visit (with Prince Philip, natch) to the Bank of London, QE2 wore a textured coat dress in the palest of lilacs, accessorized with a vibrant violet brooch, light purple eye shadow, and black gloves matched to her classic handbag matched to her sensibly-heeled black loafers.
Queen Elizabeth never ceases to amaze us. This weekend, she was in Balmoral sans chauffered Bently and instead, driving a Range Rover. Like a boss! She’s also rarely seen without a proper hat or a voluminous ‘do, but homegirl was spotted with what appears to be a scarf on her head. Seriously, what is going on in Balmoral?
Another weekend, another reason for the royal family to wear fancy hats. Queen Elizabeth II may have turned 85 back in April, but as per tradition, her birthday celebration took place today.
Look, we all know that Queen Elizabeth II has some seriously rockin’ style, but her latest look officially takes the (royal) cake. Her Highness stepped out on Monday for the Chelsea Flower Show in a robin’s egg blue skirt suit with a garden patterned top underneath. But while the colors were catchy, it was her embellished hairnet that really caught our eye.
Are you in the market for some seriously unsexy used panties? Well, you’re in luck! For a few thousand dollars, you can be the proud owner (and wearer?) of Queen Elizabeth II‘s skivvies from the ’60s!
When the Daily Telegraph‘s Hilary Alexander pointed out Queen Elizabeth‘s surprisingly trendy military jacket, it got us thinking about the Queen’s style in general. Because when we see the Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces in a military jacket designed by her royal dressmaker, we think Balmain. Sure, she wears a lot of pastel suits, but there’s something kind of nuanced about it all.
Every woman has had one of those nights — a curious stain here or an (eek!) seam rip there. That’s what dry cleaners were invented for right? Well, rest assured clumsy ladies, you’re in good company as it seems the Queen of England is also prone to fashion foibles.
The Queen of England’s bra maker retired yesterday, and in a lengthy profile by The Daily Mail, it turns out Her Royal Highness has more than a little in common with a certain Fame Monster across the pond.
