Fashion shows, for a web-based writer, largely involve mulling about on the pre-show runway, looking for someone bold-faced and quotable to interview. This is somewhat of a mutually agreed upon standard between us and the aforementioned bold-faced names — quid pro quo, etc. Except at Ralph Lauren, where, like some invisible and very authoritative hand is guiding them, everyone walks calmly to their seats and waits, tap-tap-tapping away on their smart phones.
