Royal Baby Page 1
Kensington Palace has unveiled the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first official family portrait. In the images, which were photographed by Kate Middleton’s father Michael Middleton at the Middleton family estate, the new mother cradles her royal bundle of joy, Prince Baby George, with a glowing Prince William by her side.
While we imagine that there’s a parade of splendid presents being carried into Buckingham Palace pretty much non-stop, the fashion world has been called upon to bestow Little Prince George of Cambridge with custom designs for his little tootsies. WWD asked Michael Kors, Sophia Webster, Ralph Lauren’s head of design Phoebe Goodman, Sam Edelman, and Livie & Luca’s Kat Philbin to craft the footwear by hitting the sketch books.
Finally, the moment everyone was waiting for after the real moment everyone was waiting for arrived and we got to first lay our eyes on the royal baby prince. Proving they’re ever the awe-inducing couple, Kate Middleton and Prince William left St. Mary’s Hospital wearing matching powder blue as they introduced their son to the world.
While we can’t mask the fact that we were hoping for a royal baby girl, there’s something about a Prince William mini-me running around Buckingham Palace that really tugs at our heartstrings. The little prince may be less than 24 hours old, but we’ve already started shopping for the sovereign tike. And while his mum is certainly the more stylish of his parents, we think that it would be foolish of him not to take a few pages out of his father’s royal fashion book. From the Grenadier Guard-esque uniform Prince William donned during the Trooping the Colour ceremony to his English Rugby regalia, here are 7 tiny looks that we could see the little heir-to-the-throne wearing during his first few years.
We tried and failed to find some gifts for Kate Middleton and her royal spawn, but when you’re a designer it’s easier: You can just sketch them into existence.
Now that Kate Middleton’s been pregnant for approximately three years, there’s finally a royal birth on the horizon! And the horizon is close – her due date is this Saturday, to be precise.
We’d already guessed the Royal Baby‘s approximate due date given that Kate Middleton was just shy of 12 weeks when she was admitted into the hospital for acute morning sickness in early December. But St. James’ Palace released an official statement this morning confirming it.
Here’s what they had to say.
Kate Middleton‘s pregnancy has been slightly overshadowed by hyperemesis gravidarum, the “acute morning sickness” condition that landed her in King Edward VII Hospital. Prince William drove her to the hospital Monday afternoon, and has been by her side since then. He finally left the hospital last night at 8:15PM GMT, and went back first thing today.
