rumors Page 1
Yesterday we got some very exciting news courtesy of the online rumor mill that Givenchy would be collaborating with H&M for a collection due out in 2013. And today, the French fashion house has responded.
Rumors that Kate Middleton is pregnant have been swirling ever since she and Prince William wed in April of last year, and some mags have even taken the liberty of digitally adding a baby bump onto Kate’s stomach just to sell a few extra issues. But if we’re to believe the latest gossip from one of Kate’s former roomates, the Duchess is really (!!) pregnant this time.
Until the houses themselves finally settle the matter, it looks like any designer worth their salt is going to get a turn in the rumor mill for the vacant posts at the helms of Balenciaga and Schiaparelli. Today’s fodder? Christopher Kane and Erdem Moralioglu, two of London’s hottest tickets, who some think will soon be making the leap across the channel.
It’s happened before, and we’re sure it’ll happen again, but rumors that H&M will actively pursue Tom Ford to be its next design collaborator are nothing more than pipe dreams, and the sooner we accent that, the better.
J.Crew president and creative director Jenna Lyons is said to be in the middle of a messy divorce with her husband of nine years, artist Vincent Mazeau. But the rumored reason behind the divorce makes the entire situation vastly more complicated.
In this morning’s tryptophan-induced grogginess, we weren’t exactly sure why we were seeing news of a Tom Ford for H&M collection in our newsfeed. But it was there, so our hearts started beating faster as we dreamed and fantasized about what such a collaboration might look like, or what it might cost. And then we clicked.
After a day of thinking that Jenni J-Woww Farley‘s clothing line Filthy Couture had been closed and that the danger of a nationwide lace-and-rhinestone epidemic had been averted, word is the company was never really closed to begin with.
Okay, let’s be real: Lady Gaga wedding rumors are really just excuses for us to fantasize about what kind of outrageous ensemble she could wear on her big day.
This morning, OK! magazine ran a story claiming Rachel Zoe was secretly three months pregnant. Plenty of sites pounced on the rumor because, well, it’s Rachel Zoe, and the entire third season of her Bravo show revolved around her and Rodger’s baby-making drama. But while we couldn’t be happier if Zoe actually were pregnant, there’s something about pregnancy speculation — particularly in a woman over 30 — that has us feeling a bit icky. Not, however, as icky as OK! is feeling, since the page that originally housed their Zoe rumor is now dead. What’s the deal?
There’s nothing we love more than a good designer diffusion collection, and for a little while we thought there was no bigger news on that front than Lanvin for H&M. But if the rumors about Prabal Gurung designing for Target are true, we may have made that call a little too quickly.
Followers of fast fashion, we have been duped. WWD reported this morning that Swedish megabrand H&M is partnering with Lanvin‘s Alber Elbaz for its next designer collaboration. Not 48 hours ago were we participating in a highly produced guessing game after seeing videos of fabulous people with obscured faces and heavy accents talking about fashion. Turns out, those clips were just a carefully planned bout of misdirection.
It’s been a week full of highs (Emma Watson‘s new hairdo), lows (Teresa Guidice‘s local tanning salon ad) and weirdness (fly legs turned into fake eyelashes). If you’ve missed any of this week’s fashion news, read on and get caught up.
Is The City getting canceled? The good people at Fashionista seem to think so, but other blogs and writers disagree. We analyze the likelihood of the rumors after the jump.
Tolula Adeyemi might not be an instantly recognizable face here in the U.S., but, if rumors are true, things could be about to change for the 26-year old model. Nothing is confirmed, but sources say the leggy Nigerian-born lass has come to the attention of fashion zeitgeist, Karl Lagerfeld — and he’s smitten.
1 Management’s Christopher Michael had our minds racing yesterday with the news — via Twitter, naturally — that the godfather had allegedly split with his wife and partner-in-all-gaudiness and was pursuing a new creative director. Who, we wondered, could possibly fill Eva’s five inch lucite stilettos and slinky sequin encrusted tank?
Our friends over at The Gloss were doing their requisite weekend reading when a particularly specific blind item caught their eye.
André Leon Talley’s role at Vogue is undergoing some interesting changes.
On Wednesday, Condé Nast announced that it would be moving W Magazine out of the Fairchild Fashion Group. According to their press release, a new editor in chief will be named in the process. So, who will be W’s new EIC?
Last week, Jak & Jil blogger Tommy Ton published a titillating tweet hinting that he had the inside scoop on some news that would “SHAKE the fashion world.” Grazia Australia was the first to speculate that Ton’s tweet alluded to Albert Elbaz as a possible Lagerfeld replacement at Chanel. The industry’s first guess But by Monday afternoon, Chanel had stomped out those pesky rumors with a public statement.
