Who says Easter Sunday calls for pastels? Not this First Family! It was a drizzly day out in Washington, D.C., but the Obamas headed to church undeterred, wearing a colorful array of frocks, ballet flats, cardis, and coats.
It is frrrrreezing here on the East Coast, which means that the outdoor portion of today’s Presidential Inauguration ceremony necessitated not only an array of amazing coats from Sasha, Malia, and Michelle Obama, but also some serious winter accessorizing.
The Obamas started their busy Inauguration Day at St. John’s Church in Washington D.C. this morning, and despite the chill, the Obama women made big statements with their outerwear.
It’s official: Sasha and Malia Obama are those teenagers you see in the airport and spend half your time at the gate sitting around and scoping out their outfits.
It’s a hard task indeed to stand behind four tiny kids dressed in elf outfits and not have your own adorableness pale in comparison, but the Obama family put in a valiant effort at the “Christmas in Washington” concert last night, smiling big behind a crew of Santa’s little helpers.
If you thought the Obama ladies looked stylish while going to fetch their festive pines for the White House, just wait ’till you see what they wore to the lighting of the National Christmas Tree last night.
We’re still digesting last night’s Thanksgiving feast, but the Obamas are getting a head start on the holiday season with the official White House Christmas tree. Michelle, Malia, and Sasha were on hand to receive a 19-foot Fraser Fir from North Carolina today and, of course, the trio looked fab doing so.
Last year, Sasha and Malia Obama wore some pretty snazzy outfits to pardon two turkeys for Thanksgiving at the White House. So, how’d they top the looks this year?
Cue the nationwide “Awwwwww.”
Sasha and Malia Obama followed in their mother’s footsteps last night in Chicago, and made sartorial statements when they appeared on stage for their father’s victory speech. They also coordinated with Michelle and Barack‘s ensembles, which just makes them the coolest daughters ever.
Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive sat down with President Obama in July, and now, with the election just a few short weeks away, the interview is available online and in the pages of the November issue.
President Obama gave his speech last night, but as far as we’re concerned, Michelle Obama, her mother Marian Robinson, and his two gorgeous daughters stole the show.
Sorry, we had to.
The Obama family is so totally enviable, and they really knocked the whole Easter fashion thing out of the park.
Barack Obama may be the President of the United States, but he’s also a suburban dad at heart. Just look at how he dresses in his down time! His Christmas shopping habits are similarly, adorably dad-appropriate.
The Obamas have posed for another official family portrait. We, of course, love it.
We’re obsessed with Michelle and Barack Obama as a couple, but we’re also super into their larger family unit. Malia and Sasha are budding style stars, and they just seem really sweet and smart and great. So, what did they wear this weekend?
This was the week we finally saw the Twilight wedding dress. We also saw offensive billboards, tween thongs, and Thanksgiving style advice. But also awesome puppies! And Muppets! And Obamas!
We’ve been nursing the theory lately that Malia Obama is the White House’s own undercover hipster and we’ve never taken for granted the pizazz Sasha puts into each and every one of her outfits, but the sartorial debut these first daughters made to pardon a pair of turkeys yesterday more or less blows our minds.
We generally tend to think of black as the last color we’d want to wear for Christmas, a day which we thought was supposed to be filled with lots of bright colors. But it doesn’t look like that idea makes sense to the Obama family, who wore all black everything to the a taping of “Christmas in Washington,” a concert that will air this Sunday night at 8 on TNT.
