We happen to be Francophiles here at New York-based Styleite, so we have a few tips about how to experience a little bit of the City of Light in the Big Apple.
Sophie Theallet moved to Paris as a student when she was 18, and she was instantly taken with the city. It was there she received her first big fashion break, landing a gig with Jean Paul Gaultier. She later worked for Alaïa in Paris before landing in New York.
It would be a tough call, really, if we were ever faced with having to decide between living in Paris or New York City, but Sophie Theallet doesn’t have that problem. The French-born, New York-based designer gets to live between the City of Lights and the Big Apple — but when she’s in New York, Theallet stays in Brooklyn.
