“Reality show” is a funny term. Now reality shows are a lot more polished and a lot less, well, real. Now reality shows are a lot more polished and a lot less, well, real. And for many reality stars, there is no backdrop more polished — or coveted — than the shows at Fashion Week.
Nothing makes us happier than seeing a group of famous, beautiful people looking fabulous. But we can’t lie: we get a secret pleasure from seeing them look awful, too! And at the Emmy Awards last night, there was no shortage of awful looking ensembles. From dresses that were way too short and tight to printed fabrics that looked like something you could only see in a kaleidoscope, this year’s worst-dress list looks as bad as the best-dressed list looks good.
Stephanie Pratt may have undergone reality TV’s most successful mean to nice girl makeover, but she’s still struggling in the clothing department. At last night’s NYC premiere of The Middle Man, Pratt walked the red carpet in a late ’80s-esque black mini-dress featuring a sheer back, sheer stomach, and two fabric trapezoids covering her chest.
Ah, the repeat dress. How much we love seeing you. This weekend, we praised former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell for looking fresh and sexy in her Herve Leger blue tonal banded dress. But alas, Ms. Halliwell was not the first to wear it.
What is a former reality television star to do after her show comes to an end? Rumors have begun as to what The Hills cast member Stephanie Pratt‘s next venture will be. According to one insider, Pratt has New York City on her mind. But does she have what it takes — sartorially speaking, that is?
Even though I may not readily discuss that I watch “The Hills” and know every character arc and plot twist, I have to admit that this final season is one to watch if you’ve never brought yourself to sit through an entire episode. I am not endorsing the show as a revolutionary concept in reality television. What I am interested in is the amazing exploration into self-hatred, body dysmorphic disorder, and addiction to plastic surgery that are the backbone of this show.
Our wishes have come true and Stephanie Pratt is taking off her LA trashtastic clothes. But unfortunately, she’s taking them all off for a Be Nice To Bunnies PETA campaign. I guess PETA thought their Bethenny Frankel shoot did so well, they may as well throw another reality star into the mix.
Kelly Cutrone stopped by E!’s Chelsea Lately Monday night to talk about her new book and both of her TV shows. But the Momma Wolf is not one to show up empty-handed. Instead, she arrived with a pink, bedazzled whip in one hand, and a huge bag of vibrators in the other.
