Summer’s Eve Pulls Controversial And Racist Talking Vagina Ads
Following a week’s worth of web-based backlash and one thoroughly hilarious segment on The Colbert Report, Summer’s Eve has decided to pull all three of their racially stereotyped talking vagina ads. But just to be clear, public relations executive Stacie Barnett told AdWeek that the ads weren’t meant to be offensive, just relatable. Ohhhh. Wait, what?
WATCH: Stephen Colbert Takes On Summer’s Eve Ads
On last night’s Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert tackled those racially-targeted Summer’s Eve ads featuring talking vagina hands. But while we took issue with their ethnic stereotyping and vagina-shaming tactics, Colbert complained that there aren’t any equally insulting ads made for men. So he did what any self respecting news comedian would do and made one himself.

Just when we thought Summer’s Eve ads couldn’t get any worse, they got racist. Because not all vaginas are created equal, Summer’s Eve has released three separate campaign videos with which to shame your ladyparts, depending, of course, on whether you’re Black, Caucasian, or Latina.
