Target Page 1
Target and Facebook have just launched a digital savings program that’s about to get all up in your timeline.
That’s right, folks: another fast fashion collaboration is in the works! But this time, we’ll put aside our general ennui for a minute and confess that we’re actually pretty excited to see the final product. Why? Well, for one, Phillip Lim is one of the best contemporary designers in the game right now (who doesn’t covet his Pashli bags?), and for another, this Target collection is way overdue.
Some Target collaborations get a lot of press, like the ones with Kate Young and Prabal Gurung, but others don’t. Case in point: Sam Edelman’s Sam & Libby collection for the mass retailer. The collaboration has been MIA from the press after its announcement in November, but our friends at SheFinds has the scoop on the wallet-friendly footwear that looks just like the regular-priced wares.
Stylist Kate Young is used to dressing clients like Michelle Williams and Natalie Portman in four-figure designer gowns, if the just-released ad campaign is any indication, she’s channelling that skill set in her upcoming Target collection.
New York Fashion Week may not have officially started until today, but at last night’s Prabal Gurung for Target launch party, it was clear they were pulling out all the stops to kick off a week of nonstop events. The bash, held in the cavernous Pier 57 space off Mahattan’s West Side Highway, had an over-the-top carnival theme. And we mean it — a colorful carousel, an array of mouthwatering food trucks, people in stilts serving cotton candy out of their XXL pant legs, and a flashing, spinning ride in the center of it all that only the bravest partygoers dared to try.
When Prabal Gurung said that his Target collection was inspired by love, he was’t joking. The 30-second commercial for the collaboration resembles nothing so much as a trailer for a romantic comedy, and despite the cheese, it works.
The general consensus among consumers is that they’re over Target‘s designer collaborations, and the most evident sign was the less-than-successful CFDA and Neiman Marcus partnership for the holidays. But Target is still going at it, and has just tapped major Hollywood stylist Kate Young on a limited-edition line.
So you’re cramming all of your shopping into the weekend before the big day. It’s cool, we don’t judge. This probably means you’ll want to get it all done in one fell swoop, which, as much as you may dread it, is easiest to do in a mall. So brace yourself for the crowds and come prepared. To get you started, we’ve rounded up seven sure bets from big time retailers. This is not the time to go without a game plan.
What are the holidays for if not to bring people together? And who better to facilitate all this togetherness than the collaboration kings over at Target? That was precisely the spirit last night at the launch party for the retailer’s major holiday collection with Neiman Marcus and the CFDA.
Just when we thought that we were done with shopping for a few weeks, the commercial for the massive CFDA x Target x Neiman Marcus collaboration comes out. And of course, it’s great.
On the average day, you’d be hard pressed to get us to stop tweeting for any period of time. But for a good half hour at last night’s Prabal Gurung for Target collection preview, we sadly had to stash our phones away. When we walked into the Target Studios in Midtown, we had to sign an ironclad non-disclosure agreement that forbade us from taking any pics. Of course, that makes writing about the clothes and accessories a bit difficult, but thankfully, the designer himself was on hand and walked us through the collection.
Collab-happy Target teamed up with the CFDA and Neiman Marcus on a major holiday collection, and we’ve got the full look book with prices! You’re welcome.
Target recently released a shoppable film Falling For You, whose instant shopping concept is the first of its kind. The idea is really cool, answering the perennial question “Oh man, where did they get that? I want it!” But watching a live finale at Target’s party inside Terminal 5 on Wednesday, and finding out that stars like Kristen Bell, Nia Long, and Rose Byrne also experience the same moments as us plebes? Well, that was even cooler.
Target just launched the first episode of its shoppable short film today, and the video is actually pretty cool!
Last night, Target celebrated its second round of The Shops at Target with — what else? — a shopping party. Guests like Lynn Yaeger, Mickey Boardman, Brooklyn Decker, and Hailee Steinfeld perused the collaborations with Kirna Zabete, Odin, Patch NYC, and The Curiosity Shoppe while
nibbling inhaling mini pies, pretzels, and barbecue-flavored pop corn.
When it was announced that the CFDA, Target, and Neiman Marcus were teaming up for a major holiday collaboration, we knew the collection was going to be a big deal.
