Taylor Momsen Page 1
We have no idea how this happened or why, but someone convinced Taylor Momsen to not only attend New York Fashion Week, but to look ladylike while doing it!
When it comes to fun red carpets, the Kids’ Choice Awards should be the most fun, right? Alas, this weekend’s sartorial showings were a bit tame. That said, Willow Smith looked awesome! And Heidi Klum‘s dress had pockets! And Taylor Momsen looked scary!
Taylor Momsen is no longer the spokesperson for Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon‘s juniors label Material Girl. In a post on the Matierial Girl blog, Lourdes (who totally writes all of the content for that site) wrote that the brand is in “desperate” need of a new face. We thought that from the moment they announced Momsen as the brand ambassador, but we’ll just file this under “proof that hindsight really always is 20/20.” (Galliano is next, y’all!)
Images of Taylor Momsen’s ad campaign for John Galliano‘s Parlez-moi d’Amour fragrance have been trickling through the blogosphere over the last few days, but the Ellen von Unwerth directed pièce de résistance is finally here! If you’ve ever wondered how to sell expensive perfume to a really niche audience of Gossip Girl-obsessed, Courtney Love-hating, rock-loving, tortured pre-teens, well, now you know.
There’s no love lost between us here at Styleite and former Gossip Girl lady in waiting Taylor Momsen. And now, there’s also no love lost between Taylor Momsen and the entirety of Scotland.
It looks like IMG is making moves with regard to their blonde teen actress contingent. Breaking: Taylor Momsen is out, Dakota Fanning is in.
Today’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid drew stars from across the globe, and in typical MTV fashion, the red carpet was a doozy. Eva Longoria Parker hosted the show, whose attendees included newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand (in their first public appearance since their Indian nuptials) and a dour-looking Taylor Momsen (when’s the last time that girl smiled?).
Fashionably odd couple Paper magazine and Express threw a party last night to celebrate the brand’s Spring 2011 collection, but despite their best intentions, the only thing anyone’s talking about today is Taylor Momsen’s performance with her band The Pretty Reckless. In front of a packed house at NYC’s Don Hills, the 17-year-old singer (and erstwhile Gossip Girl) pulled her top down mid-song to flash her chest.
What a week, people! Gap returned to its roots, a Kardashian got naked and Karl designed an island. Plus, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry duke it out for the pop star nail polish crown. Scandalous!
Considering how consistently newsworthy Taylor Momsen’s lack of pants is, its not surprising that her Gossip Girl cast members would be sick of answering questions about the 17-year-old’s smoky-eyed antics. But this interview between Blake Lively and an unidentified Aussie reporter is just hilarious, not only because the reporter completely butchers that rumor wherein Momsen allegedly burned her dog’s testicles (post-neutering), but because Lively does such a good job of shutting him down.
Seventeen year old Taylor Momsen graces the cover of this month’s issue of rock glossy Revolver magazine — and, true to form, she’s wearing next-to-nothing, her signature scowl, and about five pounds of black eyeliner. Though Momsen is not the first teenage celebrity to pose half naked on the cover of a magazine, she is, however, the first 17-year-old celebrity to do so in stripper heels and with a revolver in one hand and a shotgun in the other.
Normally, we don’t pay that much attention to Taylor Momsen‘s attitude — despite her distaste for clothing that covers the lower half of her body, we can relate: we were all 17 once. But Momsen looked so downright miserable at last night’s launch of Macy’s Material Girl line that it actually gave us pause.
Do you think that if we memorized the dictionary, minded our Ps and Qs, and professed our undying love for Tim Gunn, he’d adopt us? Fashion’s most honest icon has offered up some advice (and constructive criticism) for hater-of-all-things-pants-related Taylor Momsen. Gunn recently filmed a cameo on Gossip Girl where he found Momsen’s behavior on set “pathetic” and “sad.”
We were shocked when we heard designer John Galliano had tapped Taylor Momsen as the face for his new fragrance and now it looks like that campaign is well underway. Momsen performed Monday night at Laperouse restaurant in Paris for the launch of Parlez-Moi d’Amour, a scent Galliano says is “aimed at a slightly younger market.”
Maybe it’s just our love of most of the pants we own, but we tend to think that Taylor Momsen, who hardly ever wears pants, might be a troubled young woman. And last week, when she told Spin magazine she thought it was “f*cking annoying” that pop star Rihanna wears leather jackets, we bumped her up from troubled to just plain mean spirited.
We give Taylor Momsen a hard time here on Styleite, but the truth is: she’s not alone. Bare midriffs, crotch-revealing skirts, overly exposed cleavage — there are no shortage of sartorial offenses to which young celebrities fall victim when climbing the golden ladder of fame.
When we begged Taylor to put on some pants, that didn’t mean she could then take off her top. Last night, Taylor Momsen feted the launch of Material Girl for Macy’s — the line designed by Madonna and Lourdes – in the way only Taylor can: in an inappropriate outfit paired with sulky pout.

What, oh what, is the fashion world coming to?! We know celebs sell fragrances — heck, that’s clearly why Katy Perry launched one that smells like cats or something — but when John Galliano starts casting 16-year-olds with a distaste for pants in his ad campaigns, well, then things are really going down the tube.
Taylor Momsen, former Gossip Girl star and current rockband front woman, recently stopped by MTV’s studios to chat about her personal style, which she somewhat disdainfully refers to as “comfortable.” Enlightening. Anyway, in what has apparently become true Taylor form, the 17-year-old snarked happily about firing her stylist, how she still wears “pieces from when she was in f**king middle school,” and thinks mixing and matching means wearing t-shirts as dresses.
