Ever since we read that fascinating New York Times essay chronicling the making of Paul Schrader’s The Canyons — you know, the one where Lindsay Lohan sneaks off set to go partying until 6:00 AM then wins back the director’s affection by tapping into her personal traumas in a tragically post-meta strain of method acting — we’ve been dying to see the film.
Someone’s taking a biiiig risk with this one… but it appears that the Lohan film that inspired the infamous NYT piece may be getting a coveted summer release date.
It should surprise approximately no one that casting Lindsay Lohan in your movie is a recipe for some tumultuous times on set. In this weekend’s New York Times Magazine, however, we learn exactly what kind of tumult the starlet really brings along, in an aptly titled 10-page piece, “Here Is What Happens When You Cast Lindsay Lohan in Your Movie.”
